Ultra-Spring Conditions, including Super-Soft Mogul formation,
Sunny, and very very warm.
Unfortunately, there was a major glitch with the Duncan Quad
that resulted in long delays, and ultimately, busses were needed
to assist getting people back to the South Resort Base.
None of our crew were actually on Duncan at the time, however
everyone on the North was effected as the result of what became
very long lines at Expo.
We are not privy to any info. on the cause of the problem, but
we have been aware that in the past, technicians from the
Lift Manufacturer have attended on-site for both diagnostic and
repair work on Duncan. Evidently, more needs to be done.

80(*) Open Trails on the Snowy, Sunny, Spring
4 Sides of Tremblant!
"Spring" Into The Best Conditions
In The Laurentian's !!!
Versant Nord, North Park, Rope Tow, off the Lowell Thomas Triple Chair. Grab These Conditions While You Can!
The principle coverages are still quite complete.
The Force Within, i.e. Frost in the Mountain, is
going to be able to withstand many days of heat
before thawing, so until then, there are going to be
some exceptionally "Springy" days!
Expected Daytime High Temp of around +10 C under
bright, Sunny sky's.
Carve This!!!
South Side McCulloch, main pitch beside the TGV Quad Chair Lift The 2 main benefits of getting to Tremblant as soon as you can are
going to be Open Terrain Variety, and Quality.
Take a day, or a few days for that matter, off. The combination
of coverage and easy warm temps can not go on forever, so from
this point forward, each precious day should be savoured like a
rare, fine wine.... you can not fully appreciate it unless you taste it.
At some point though, the glass does become empty, but until then, the
opportunity exists for some truly memorable Spring conditions.
Look at it this way.....(#)
It's a "Golden Opportunity" to experience the best
of both Winter Coverages and Spring Warmth!
(#)Taken Thursday Mar.15th, 2012, After Lunch, on Duncan Quad Chair.
We just love the colours of fun we see every day at Tremblant,
so whenever we find a willing subject, we enjoy experimenting
with photography to see how different POV's turn out. Not every
opportunity is as colourful as this one though, so we were thrilled
to have a patient person who was understanding while we tried
a few different settings. If nothing else, when they find this pic. 100
years from now, they'll have a pretty good idea of what we're using
for eye protection!
Generally Speaking...
and until further notice...
The South will be getting a ton of direct Sun.
Fling Mile, seen from the Cabriolet. The North will get the shade of the long shadows, so you may find
additional speed capacity in those areas not exposed to direct sun.
Devils River, seen from the Duncan Quad.
The shaded right hand side has substantially
faster speed characteristics, typical of all
similarly shaded zones. These Spring conditions are not easy for everyone. Trail selection
within your Skill Level is quite important for safe navigation when
trails that can have thick soft snow can cause "issues" for those
that do not have the experience or strength. Tremblant Mountain
Crews keep some of the finest "Green" rated trails on Planet Earth
in immaculate condition for each and every morning. Daytime use
can see things become tracked or carved up which may be a
challenge for some. Just take your time and go cautiously with
the speed, everything's doable as long as you're in control.
These conditions reward all those who can apply solid fundamental
techniques with an emphasis on a low, well centred stance. A low,
compact centre of balance is always easier to react with.
All skill levels will have tremendous enjoyment and exceptional exercise
when Trail selection match abilities.
