Introductory Apres Ski Edit... @ 7:00 P.M.
(Full Version to follow later this eve. as "reply", attached below.)
If you've ever ridden up Tremblant's Gondola and seen this sight...
You Know There's "No Question" You're Going To
Have A Great Day!
Especially if it's Opening Day!
No Question, Great Day! For the most part, very fine, spring like conditions with great traction
and lots of speed. There were some icy bits, we'll talk about those later, but regardless,
they were understandably on some of the steeper pitches and with due
care and control, not too difficult to navigate or bypass.
An Absolutely Wonderful, Blue Bird Big Sky at Tremblant
with the added bonus of South Side Top-To-Bottom via
Beauvallon/Johannsen!
Expanded Apres Ski with more pic's 'n detail later on this eve.,
hopefully between 10 and 11 P.M.
As Opening Days go, right up there with the best!
Congratulations Mountain Crews for getting so much done!

12(*) Open Trails on the First, Opening Day of the
2012/2013 Winter Alpine Snow Sports Season!
What a relief!
No more waiting!
No More Guessing!
Are You Ready For This ?!?!?!
It's Time to Jump Into Action At Tremblant! You can absolutely go Skiing/Boarding at Tremblant today and
miraculously, you can do it on 12 Open Trails and Top-To-Bottom
on the South Side, right down to the Resort Base!!!
We put up the raw data preview of todays Open List and Mountain
Stat's yesterday eve., and at that point, there were 13 open trails
included. The one missing in the Official Snow Report this morning is
Trail #37, Onesime, the dedicated beginner area, just to the right hand
side of the Gondola Base as you look up Johannsen.
We're absolutely thrilled to have such an extensive Opening Day Inventory,
and to be able to Ski/Board all the way from the Summit to the resort base
is a very rare privilege!
Bravo Tremblant!!!
We can not remember how far back it may have been that Tremblant's
been Open Top-To-Bottom on the first day of the season and if there's
anyone out there who can recall such a season, by all means, please
let us know so we can add that to this record for comparisons sake.
This joyful occasion of abundant Opening Day terrain is brought to you
by Mountain Crews who have been working diligently since November 4th
with their super-effective Snowmaking and Grooming/Packing equipment.
This Joyful occasion is also brought to you by Mother Nature who has
been kind enough to provide solidly Sub-Zero overnight temps that are
just what Crews needed to generate the tons of blown snow that have been
necessary to put in place.
On The South:
Looking closely at what we've got open shows not only the main feature,
Beauvallon, right from the Summit to the Resort Base, but there's Nansen
as well, as far down as Mi-Chemin which you can take over to the TGV.
Overlooking Lac Tremblant, Snowmaking and Cool Temps have
allowed Crews to Open Beauvallon, Johannsen from the Summit,
right down to the Resort Base Today. On The North:
Lead off by our usual North Side best friend P'tit Bonheur, we also have
Rope Tow, with several Park Modules, under the Lowell Thomas Triple
Chair, down to La Traverse, the connective part of Beauchemin, where
it leads to the Lowell T Triple Loading zone. Beauchemin Upper and
Lowell Thomas Upper round out the North Side selections.
Crews have been working on P'tit Bonheur for almost 2 weeks solid.
We can't wait to ski it and we get to do that today! What A Fantastic Array Of Opening Day Terrain!
Todays Weather is supposed to be starting out foggy or overcast, then becoming
Sunny, bright and "Spring Skiing" warm, with a projected high of plus 7C.
The winds are forecasted to be light to moderate from the South, so they'll
be moving across the Summit from the Soleil Sector towards P'tit Bonheur.
With the partial clearing we would not be surprised to find the Summit breezy
at times, and it will be cooler up there by 4 or 5 degrees C due to elevation,
but with these mild temp's, no problem at all. If anything, the perception
of "Cool" will be mostly that we are not yet winter temp climatized, there
are many East Coast areas that are still green and playing Golf. Not on the Slopes
of Tremblant Though.... We've Got Snow!
The most important part of any Opening day coverage is Apres Ski and
that will certainly be more interesting than usual with so much to be able
to show. We'll have a 2 part Apres Ski today with both preliminary and
feature coverage. We'll have wallpaper size pic's to go fullscreen with where
ever you are around the world if you can't be with us.
We look forward to seeing you then!

and Grooming Staus Report, Courtesy of Tremblant.ca
Please Note: There's a wee bit of fuzzy focus and some
missing grid lines in today's PDF. We're sure it's just a
start-up tech issue and we expect that to be cleared up.
Where are you?
We hope you're in line at the Gondola for this very rare
Top-To-Bottom Opening Day!
See 'ya Apres Ski!
