Another Beautiful, Classic, late season Tremblant day...
We would have to say that it stayed cooler feeling than expected, part
of which was the wind adding to the chilling effect, but all that did
was to help keep the winter-like qualities of the Snow Surfaces.

It did not feel as though the high temp of the day got close to what
the forecast called for, and at the Summit, the reassuring signs of Snow
in the Trees was proof of all-day sub-zero.

Carving at high performance levels was facilitated by the overnight
work of Mountain Crews who groomed virtually flawless
wall-to-wall white magic corduroy carpet that was very responsive.

Miles and Miles, Kilometre after Kilometre of seamless smooth
terrain was the basis of a day of superb Winter Alpine Snow Sports
for all skill levels.

Tonight in St.Jovite, it's snowing again... A bit of a damp Snow, but
all snow, so we can't complain. We'll have to wait for morning to tell
how it's shaping up on the Mountain, but we expect there to be a noticeable
accumulation.

low contrast photo conditions, however one important aspect is the
complete absence of any dark spots, glitches or obvious flaws or hazards.
The Open groomed terrain is almost spotless perfect.
Ski and Board conditions reporting is at the very least, relative to
either recent past days, current seasonal, or past seasonal, for examples.
So, the remarkable thing about what we expect for todays conditions is
that within those relative comparisons, Tremblant's currently Open terrain
stacks up very well on any of those levels.
No... it is not fully open, but it's April 4th and typically, no-one would ever
think it would be at this late seasonal date.... but....
What is open is not only very fine by any previous April standards you might
reference, but it's very fine by any total seasonal standards too.
Current Tremblant Guests are experiencing a rare and far above average
quality and quantity of almost flawless Open Terrain for this date.
Anyone who does not appreciate it is nuts....
Anyone who could be here, and isn't... is also nuts...

You could carve the entire length without hesitation or fear... not hardly
a bump or a flaw on it. The snow surface is a mix of course granular and
day-before fresh, but the shred depth for carving/edge hold is damn-near
perfect, so top-to-bottom beautifully controlled arch's of power are yours
for the doing if you have the skills and muscle for it.
There is some ice at Tremblant, but Good Grief Charlie Brown... It's April 4th!!!
We've had "Spring" temp cycles of Plus value temps so that's inevitable...
and... the icy bits are virtually all predictable in location and with
fresh tuned gear... no problem at all to traverse. The Worst one we
found, if you could call it that, was the crest going onto Lowell Thomas
Bas, Lower, and it was literally a sheet of about ice about 20 metres.
You can't turn on it with any speed, so caution is necessary here, but if
that's the worst, then compared to the overall surface excellence...
it's nothing and the rest of Lowell Thomas Bas was fine.
We'd be excited about these surfaces in January... or February....
but on the 4th of April ??? We would not usually expect anywhere near
these superb, smooth and wall-to-wall surfaces to still be here at
this quality.

On top of that, with such little traffic... at "Last Run" you can still find
scene's like this all over the Mountain... remarkable....

as perfect as any day so far this season.

Starts out -6 C, sunny all day, ends in pure Spring at forecasted +6 C.
Moderate to strong Sou-West winds from Soleil side, but at these temps,
super easy...
We'll let you know how it goes in Apres Ski....
