Emotion, Trail # 86, runs from just below the Edge Summit,
bearing right on descent, from the first turn of Trail # 88, Action,
and it terminates on the lower plateau of Trail # 72, P'tit Bonheur.
It is rated as a Double Black Diamond and it is a Wooded Glade Run
also known as within the categories of “Sous Bois” or “Hors Piste".
Below:
This is great shot showing the principle characteristics of Emotion
and it illustrates the point of origin from Trail # 88, Action,
the main descent from the Summit of the Edge sector.
The view from the top of Emotion offers an excellent vista of
the upper Beauchemin/Lowell Thomas sectors of Tremblant's
Versant Nord, North Side Summit.
Wider angle version:
As you can see from both the above and the top pic’s, Emotion sits
on the side of a ravine in a roughly nor-easterly orientation. We
often talk in the Mountain Conditions Forums about “Lee-Side Drifting”
that can occur during Snow storms and Emotion can get huge benefits
of natural snow deposits in that regard when there is a Snow event
with a wind component that ranges from Nor-East, all the way around
to the Westerly quadrants. Like all tree sheltered sectors, natural snow
fall retention is enhanced by the wind break effect the trees provide.
