Beaucoup de neige ... Today@Tremblant

Beaucoup de neige ...

This is not the first time we've seen Snow at the Summit this fall.

And that's the point...

Winter is around the corner and all us winter sports fans that love Tremblant cannot help but get enthusiastic when ever it snows... from now on.

The gaps between the snowfalls will get shorter and shorter, until it will be cold enough.... and snowy enough... to stick.

Then, with a little help from the Tremblant Snow Making Team, we'll start to see some base develop. There will be a lot going on, on the Mountain, in +/- 3 weeks as we get set for the forecasted season opening of Nov.20th, 2009.

Due to its elevation over sea level and its northern latitude, Mother Nature causes Tremblant’s Summit to have cooler temperatures than many surrounding areas, so the Snow Making Team at Tremblant is able to take advantage of that. They can optimize both production and retention of blown snow early in the season. This is one of the reasons Tremblant has one of the best reputations in the East for early season snow surface quality.

This may look like a groomed run, but if it does that's an optical illusion as we look out over the roof of the summit Ski Patrol H.Q. towards Duncan. What appear to groomed lines of corduroy are actually shingles on the roof!

Hey! So it's not exactly full coverage yet, but we're headed in the right direction and that's not so far off now!
