1/10/18 #Tremblant Conditions

Post by T360 »

96(*) Open Trails on the daytime rapidly warming Snowy White Slopes at #Tremblant .

It’s been down to -23C this morning, but supposed to rapidly warm
up under a sunny sky to -8C @ 1:00 P.M and to -6C by 3:00 P.M.
With a fresh coating of 6cm’s of New Snowfall, it should be a very
fine day.

Supposed To Look Like This(?):

Weather Notes:

We have added the additional 12 hour cycle because there is a
chance, however small it may be, that at Mountain Elevations
that are typically -4C Cooler than Sud, South Resort Base Levels
Shown, any precipitation could actually fall over the Mountain as Snow.

Conditions Notes:

Today is day 2 of 2, very fine days before we have a little
“January Thaw” of about 48 hours or so.

The Groomed Trails Should Be Great. Last night’s Grooming
will have added a more refined level of compaction and where
Groomed over the new snowfall, the end result should be
Smoothness and Traction at the highest performance possible
across the entire range of Skill Level Terrain.

On the Hors Piste, Sous Bois, Un-Groomed, Glade Skiing/Boarding,
caution is still required for natural hazards. To put this into perspective,
todays seasonal snow accumulation is at 267cm’s and last seasons
total was roughly 540cm’s, so we still have a little ways to go before
we reach an overall depth that reduces a lot of the plant stems and
rocky outcrop’s. Once the total accumulations get into the 300cm’s
range the Hors Piste develops a higher degree of consistency.

Technically, it was “Sunny” for a brief period after lunch
and there was lingering evidence of “Blue Sky” horizons
as observed above and below.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
