Post by T360 »

58(*) Open Trails on the Snow’d on and re-froze Slopes at #Tremblant .

--------------------------------------------------

Revised Open Trail Count to 65(*) Attached Below.

---------------------------------------------------

18 Hours Ago it was +8C, now it’s -14C,
and in between, it snowed 7cm’s in a High Wind.

There Are Two Things That Are Going To Make Positive,
Critical Differences Today.

Number One:

Grooming.

The Rotating Drums with Carbide Steel Teeth behind the BR350
Grooming Machine are the primary method of rendering fine,
even, Snow particle size after any “Thermal Event”, like the
whole East Coast of North America has just had.

Number Two:

Sharp, Tuned Edges.

The Tremblant Ski Shop's Wintersteiger, Discovery II CNC Ski/Board
Automated Tuning Machine is arguably the finest device on Planet
Earth to produce a flawless running edge on Skis or Board.(**)

The Laws Of Physics Apply, so...
There is a very high probability of wide ranging Surface Conditions
that include everything from Excellent, Smooth Carving Corduroy
to Icy bits, due to the variations in Temperatures and Fresh Snowfall
retention shaped by the wind.

Some direct wind-facing areas, particularly over topographical crests
may be most susceptible to exposed Icy surfaces. Todays traffic may
cause more of those areas to become evident if the top layers of
finished grooming are moved to the sides, or down the slopes.
What should be apparent though, are that these slick zones are in
recognizable patterns that can be anticipated for safe navigation.

Mountain Guests need to be patient for a day while Crews deal
with the weather effects, but we would like to remind all who may
read this now or in the future...

No One Can Restore, Refresh, Repair, or Rejuvenate Alpine Snow Sport
Trails Quicker Than The Pro’s of Tremblant’s Mountain Operations Group.

When it comes to getting the Mountain “Back Up To Speed”, the talented
Crews here at Tremblant move very quickly to produce real results overnight.

Possible Changing Open Trail Spec’s.

We would also like to point out that there are possibilities
for changes in the Open Trail count during the day, today.

The current Open Trails are a fraction of the previous and
the majority of that snow has not gone anywhere. Trails have
been closed mostly for safety and preservation. Tremblant’s
Ski Patrol and Mountain Op’s work together to bring as much
on-line as soon as they can and we think you may see
increases or adjustments throughout the day for that reason.

Today is a day you’re going to want Tuned Edges
and Careful Explorations. There was about 7cm’s
of new Snowfall, but it came with a relatively
strong North, Nor-West Wind, so there will likely
be some icy bits due to exposure after the re-freeze.

(**) The Ski Shop is located at the Base of the Cabriolet
and they have a “CRAZY-GOOD" OVERNIGHT TUNE-UP Deal.
If you don’t have a a recent Tune, take your gear in there tonight!

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
