3/18/18 #Tremblant Conditions

Post by T360 »

96/96 (*)Open Trails on the Very Unusually Kkkkkoool, but definitely “Winter” Slopes
at #Tremblant .

Considering this is a Daily Diary at a Ski Resort...
How Could the Morning’s Story Start With Anything But This?!?!?...

Wow, It’s “Nippy” out there!!!

Weather Notes:

As discussed above, todays very low early morning temps
are going to rise quickly, so for the best part of the day, it
should be really quite pleasant. Any sunny, wind sheltered
trail-side spots you can find should actually start to build
radiant heat you can feel within a minute or so.

The moderate, but potentially gusty winds are forecast
to be moving up the Mountain over Beauvallon and McCulloch,
moving across the summit towards Lowell Thomas and Duncan
respectively. Riding up the TGV should be no problem with the
breezes at your back, but the top of the Duncan Quad and the
Lowell Thomas Triple may seem chilly over the top crests.

Conditions Notes:

The really important theme here is refinement over Freeze-dried
Snow. The Groomed Trails across all Skill Levels from Green Beginner
Terrain, to the Expert Slopes should all be Super Smooth and the
steeper runs should be Rocket Fast!

Control inputs for Steering, Braking and Stopping should all be
quickly effective with lots of grip as the compaction of top layers
gets close to ideal.

Icy Bits are possible where Wind and Traffic Concentrations can
work over accumulated time and passage, but any of those should
be small and predictable in patterns related to steepness or narrowing
confines. It’s always wise to explore with initial reserve in speed,
but once you get a sense of the day’s fingerprint, we think there
should be great all-day consistency.

We think you may see a noticeable reduction in Mountain Traffic
after about 1:30 P.M. It’s the last day of the Ontario School Break
and there’s going to be a big push to get an early start for many
folks who want to get home at a decent time for tomorrows return
to class, back to work, and all those other normal routines...

For those locals and anyone who would rather Ski than sit on a crowded
highway, it could be a great afternoon for Lapping, especially considering
the 20 degree C warmer temps. It’s quite possible you could find it rather
suddenly empty by mid-afternoon.

Spring Breaks May Be Over, BUT....
For those lucky enough to be just checking in...
There’s a Whole Bunch Of Winter,
And Some Really Excellent Conditions
ready and waiting for those wise enough
to plan for now.

We would have to say for any Future Tremblant
Ski Holiday planners looking at this Archived Time-frame,
we think you’d see a very positive trend in this end
of March period for very high overall quality and
coverage with the kind of User-Friendly temps
that are typical in what we see above in the 14
day side of the Weather Forecast Models.
