Above:
This screenshot is Courtesy of Tourisme Tremblant and besides
the absolutely beautiful Sunset, it just happens to show the shadowed
upper portion of Versant Nord which we want to make specific
reference to because of its very favourable receipt of many, many
extra snowfall deposits over the So-far-season. In this this pic.
you can see on the lower frame edge, the top of the Expo Quad.
Between there, and the Summit Level tops of both the Duncan Quad
and the Lowell Thomas Triple, lies one of the sweetest portions of
all of Tremblant that we refer to as containing the “Canaries In
The Coal Mine”, i.e., Trail Indicators of Sector Health that are not
supported with Snowmaking and consequently reflect the state
of au Natural reserve quality. If you follow these T360 reports,
you will know this zone is a major diagnostic tell-tale.

------------- Mid-Day Update ------------------

Below:

This is a picture taken today of the lower portion of Banzai
that shows the excellence of its current conditions. This very spot
can be seen in the overview above as a point in the lateral cat-track
that goes between Lowell Thomas and Duncan at the level of the Duncan
entrance to Devils River. It is where the two narrow and closely parallel
trails can be seen running slightly diagonally towards the left, and end up
at the immediate right of the Duncan Quad Summit Off-Load.

Weather Notes:

What this Graphic does not show is the Kool, pre-open hours -20C.
That’s the “Frosty” part of our Open reference, top-of-page.
So then, another day of almost a 20C Spread from the low to the
projected high, which really means you’re going to need to be able
to shed layers to prevent overheating this afternoon. The wind thats
starting off Nor-east across the Summit is forecast to swing around to
Nor-west, rising up over Beauvallon. The forecast wind speed values
are moderate, but so far it’s brisk, so there’s your Wild Card du Jour.

If you’ve been following the 14 day outlook for the last few days,
you’ll have seen there have been some comparatively large swings
in thermal bubbles at around the 8 to 10 day mark that have gone
both up and down. For the most part, as those days have gotten
closer, the trend has reverted to “Down”, which of course we like
because no one needs +5C quite yet. There are 2 relevant points:
1) is that even though we’re not experiencing any big “+” values yet...
at the end of March anything can happen.
2) is that if you can escape to ski, “Sooner” is better if you
want optimal Coverage and Conditions.

Conditions Notes:

We think of it as a generally applicable rule of thumb that as
temps rise, conditions get easier and more forgiving, especially
when the Sun begins to take on a more significant part in
the softening.

For today, that should mean that any Firm bits begin to shrink
starting at around 10:30 a.m. on Versant Sud, South Side, lower
level Trails. By noon we could see that creeping up to Summit level.

Versant Nord, North Side trails may be less predictable, so from
an overall standpoint, the Sud, South may have a sooner and
more general “User Friendly” mid-to-late day feel.

It’s A Private Club Week as all the Spring Break
Travellers are back at “Theirtown”.

If you can get days on the Mountain now, you’ll be
able to rack up some serious Vertical with almost no traffic.

Please Review the 14 Long Range Forecast and focus
planning efforts on “Sooner”.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
