If you happened to be here today, you wouldn’t have
to imagine it, because this above, was our day at Tremblant, all day.

You’d Give “Two Thumb’s Up” Too!

Our thanks to all levels and departments of Tremblant Mountain Op’s
who coordinated the huge overnight grooming effort. Everything we
hoped for in overnight quick-chilled performance came true.
The Mountains basic frame of Groomed reference was “Smooth”!

For Those Who Prefer Bump’s:

There are “Bumps” all over the place!
Not only are the designated mogul runs
in great shape, there were some mogul
formations in small or large degree all
over the Mountain due to the residual
softness in last 30 hours of snowfall.

For Those Who Prefer Groomed:

With tonight’s additional grooming cycle, the density
of the top layers should be noticeably apparent as
compaction is increased towards optimal levels.
Even though the Sud, South Resort Base got to
a degree or two below Zero C, there no appreciable
softening in the sense of “Thaw”. For sure, afternoon
surfaces on Sud, South did get some solar softening,
but there was never any real sense of “Thaw” at all
that we saw. Maybe there was somewhere, but not
on the Mountain Trail Network that we saw, anywhere.

Tomorrow represents a typical Day-Two of a Post-Thermal Cycle
from the Friday heavy wet-snow day. Today was a near-miraculous
Day-One, so if tomorrow was scaled up on that basis, it sould be
fantastic!

Considering the previous thickness, the snow today seemed like we were
on a different planet. Light, Dry, Fast, and Excellent Shred-Traction. All
you need to do is scroll back up to those carving tracks above to know
exactly how much obvious grip there is. Imagine tomorrow even better!!!

Odd’s are that with the forecasted weather, “Better” is exactly
what you should get when the Sun comes up.

It appears as though we got our early morning
forecast right. See all below.
More to follow.

----------- Original Post ------------------

A Bit Of A Prediction Risk
(because we could be wrong)...
But Here Is What We’re Hoping
To Find This Morning, Followed
Below By “Why” And "How":

Here’s the “Why” and the “How”...

IF... If, if, if we’re right, last nights Grooming, plus the
Mother nature Cryogenic Cold-Shock, plus, the forceful
wind, could, might, maybe, hopefully, produce an almost
instant “Winter.Version.2.0-Reboot”, that would render out
the kinds of surface quality and carving performance we had
the day before yesterday.

Mountain Crews had a huge All-Nighter grooming schedule
and you should review that below, carefully noting the
grooming Icons. Within that list, we are very confident you
are going to find a considerable degree of excellence this morning.

It may take another night-shift, or even two night-shifts,
to get to all the 4 corners of the entire regularly scheduled
groomed terrain, but it will definitely be worth the effort as
we find ourselves getting to the last week of March, but with
the potential of an almost complete re-set of genuine “Winter”
conditions.

All this weather in it’s imperfect quirky way, is perfectly good
news for “Spring” skiing that is just around the calendar corner.

What better way to launch into Spring, than with a stabilizing
shot of Winter to extend both the scope and quality of the
current availability of 100% of the Tremblant Alpine Domain.

Conditions Notes:

Default Down One Challenge Level Until You Verify Safe Passage.

At Sud, South, Resort Base Levels there were some brief rainy
periods last night that have left Vehicles coated, after which the
snow came, so the whole frozen mess has been difficult to get
through, but... we do not think that extended beyond Base Levels.
As far as we know, elevations did not see much of that at all,
and even if they did, it would be all chewed up and integrated
into the groomed surfaces. The point is that you want to be very
flexible at adapting to a la Carte conditions.

It is highly probable that the concentrations of the lightest, fluffiest,
deepest drifted snow from this storm system may be found on Versant
Nord, the North Side as the strong Nor-West winds have had enough
velocity to push snow up Beauvalon, upper La Crete, McCulloch,
and Kandahar, right over the Summit to end up Back-Filling the
Lowell Thomas Sector.

The Edge Sector is also a prime candidate to benefit from this
active weather profile.

Explore Responsibly, Use Low Speeds On All Initial Descents, and...

Default Down One Challenge Level Until You Verify Safe Passage.

Here’s hoping we’re right on the favourable
Snow quality potential for today!

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
