43(*) Open Trails On First Day Of New Season With All 4 Open Sectors At #Tremblant .

Edge Sector “Open”...
Soleil Sector On “Progressive Open”...

Weather Notes:

Evidently we are headed into another mild spell. If there is a
saving grace, it is that the currently forecasted temps are still
very close to zero C at Sud/South Resort levels, so up on the
typically cooler by -4C slope elevations, we could actually
see most of the Alpine trail network remain ever-so-slightly
below zero C. Mild spells are totally natural in the evolving
weather from Fall to Winter, so at least this one does not
appear to be getting so warm as to compromise conditions.

We are not at all concerned about the Sud/South base level
rainy icons in the long range forecast yet, they have changed
back and forth between rainy and snowy several times and at
these very low single digit forecast values there is some
probability that any precipitation over the Mountain could be
either all snow, or with the light icon indications, the precipitation
may occur in bands of very localized and rapidly transient
activity that could skirt or altogether miss the Mountain.
Bottom line is that it’s still too far out to accurately call,
however the biggest favour factor at this stage is the
projected low single digit temp range.

Conditions Notes:

Any day that there are new season, first additional
sector openings is a good day, however when there
are 2 new sector openings that allow full, all 4 sided
Mountain access simultaneously, it’s a great day!

Yesterday we wrote about the possibilities for these
openings and today we have them so we think that
was a good call, however we would also point out
that the newly opened sector terrain will most likely
benefit from an initial break-in period. This initial
phase of traffic use really does help in rendering
what can be courser sized machine processed surface
granularity into finer and finer, smaller particles that
evolve into a wider scope of a more natural feel
underfoot on both the side-to-side and top-to-bottom
dimensions of the new open terrain.

Otherwise and generally, the groomed trail array continues
to be the main feature since there is not yet enough natural
coverage in the Sous Bois/Glade/Hors Piste categories after
the recent warm/wet episode. That’s the way it goes, and in
any circumstances like this, we are eternally grateful for the
current snowmaking technologies that permit this degree
of development that is based on suitable snowmaking
temperatures alone.

Please Note: Your T360 author is not yet able to
be on site due to a post-surgical, medical LOA.
We expect to have that cleared by mid-December.
12.16.23-UPDATE: Due to LOA logistical support
issues, plus Holiday season scheduling, return
delayed but working on A.S.A.P.

Thanks for your patience. In the mean-time, we
intend to maintain the daily, chronologically filed,
weather and trail status data plus whatever
observational commentary possible for archival
date/seasonal/historical period sampling.

If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.
