It’s Supposed To Look Like This... ?

But So-Far, It Looks Exactly Like This ???

What’s Up With That Mother Nature ???

In any event, the skiing is going to be excellent. Period.

Weather Notes:

The warming trend begins now, and if, if, if, the sky clears
and sun does indeed come out, it will seem like a different
world compared to the chill of recent days. Quiet, safe,
trail-side rest stops in the forecasted sunshine should
render almost immediate sensations of heat, and even
if the forecast is out on the sunny part, the ambient air
temps are going to be moderate enough to be nicely
tolerable anyway. One factor that could support the
transition to actual sunny clearing is that the foggy
snowmaking micro-climate is now over, so all we need
is for Mother Nature to sweep her hand over the Mountain.

Looking forward to the long range, no other way to put it...
easy.

Conditions Notes:

It’s a weekend Sunday, so the likelihood is that the
morning may be busy, but if it’s a typical Sunday,
at just about noon, the mass exodus may begin to
occur as the regional commuters begin to get an
early start on the trek back to “Theirville".

No matter what the morning traffic is though, with 97
open trails, the vast dimensions of the available terrain
tells us that there should be very little stress on the
conditions through the early hours, which means that
if the typical Sunday afternoon materializes, there could
be some really outstandingly durable left over’s for
anyone who can plan to stay till last run.

We could be wrong...

Specifically...

In The Groomed:

We would fully expect the excellence that has
been evident in the groomed to continue and
maybe even incrementally improved in terms
of universal density across the entire array.

In the past 5 days we’ve gone from 299 cm’s
to 316 cm’s but in small stages that are fairly
easy for Mountain Crews to integrate with each
grooming night-shift, so we think that the 7 cm’s
registered last night will be a really nicely blended
top coat/cushion over the whole works.

In The Sous Bois/Hors Piste/Glades/Un-Groomed:

In our opinion, the Mountain has had a nice, and very
useful orographic snowfall event that could be a
huge benefit in these categories. The reason we say
that is because in the adjacent Old Village of Mt. T,
the amount of snowfall over the last 2 days has only
been a dusting, so 7 cm’s shown on the Mountain
is an anomaly of a hugely larger amount that could
be explained accordingly.

7 cm’s would be a great little refresher and depending
on localized wind-shaped drifting, there may even be
some pockets of far deeper accumulations just waiting
for your Expert discovery.

The wind direction over the past 48 has been N/W, so
basically coming up the Mountain from over the Nansen
sector, together with a good breeze(20km’s) that could
have had a very effective “push-over” across the Summit.
Therefore, look for a lot of the new fresh snow in the Edge
sector as well as the Lowell Thomas Haut/Upper zone of
Versant Nord/North Side terrain.
