Why today may be a unique “Sweet Spot” day...
48 hours ago, we were on the Sub-Zero C tail end
of a week long cold snap that not only reset the
chill in the hill, but added close to a half a metre
of fresh snowfall. The cold and the snow have
remained largely in place, but now have a soft
top layer that is very forgiving in every positive
way that spring skiing can be. Add in the overnight
slightly above Zero C and you’ve got a full day of
softness without the usual spring early morning
refroze that by all forecast accounts(see 14 day
long range outlook for overnight Sub-Zero C’s),
is going to start tomorrow.
