OOOppps !!!!

A Tiny, Little Mistake In The Official Trail Status Data

Trails 64, 65 and 66 were Officially listed as groomed.

Trails 64, Marie Claude Asselin and 65, Banzai were
brilliantly, optimally, groomed to very close to flawless...

First Class Groomed Excellence!

However...Trail 66, Le Tunnel was not groomed at all.

We think that maybe, could be, possibly Le Tunnel might be done tonight? Maybe?

We think it may just be machine scheduling or mechanical issues
and perhaps that will correct tonight? Maybe?

But No Worries At All Because Everything Else Groomed
Was Really Close To “Best Of Season” Levels...

Genuine, authentic, fabulous front-side carving,
good enough to explore the Laws Of Physics with on every run...

Big Snowstorm tonight?

We sure hope so!

More in morning... See you then!

102(*) Open Trails.

In Terms Of Clinical Assessment And Technical Merit...

Today Is The Holy Grail Of Mature Seasonal
Groomed Trail Refinements At Tremblant. Period.

The Official List Is Showing Versant Nord/North Side Trails
#64, Marie-Claude Asselein, #65 Banzai, and #66 Le Tunnel,
As Groomed.

Sample Groomed Sector Pic.File:

In our opinion, these are symbolic of the ultimate sophistication of
groomed trail refinements because, basically, it makes this whole
sector come alive for a very appreciative audience that is literally
500 times larger in utility today, than it was yesterday.

When This Happens Within The Array Of Groomed Trails...

You Know Everything Is Excellent.

ADDITIONALLY, including, but not limited to...

(a) This is one of the most photogenic sectors of the entire Mountain
so today, even confident Intermediates with solid turning and stopping
skills can safely experience some of the most magnificent, intimate,
surreally beautiful boreal forest Alpine Ski descents Mother Nature
has to offer anywhere on Earth.

(b) These trails at this level of preparation will make you a better
skier with every run you take on them because you are compelled
by their physical dimension to execute turns within their boundaries
and that automatically causes you to develop an oscillating rhythm
that happens easily due to the extraordinary grip over such smooth
and level surfaces with this degree of steepness.

(c) With the inherent smoothness of grooming, the topographical
contours become evident in the flow of your descent path in such
a way that compliments your rhythmic turning sequence because
each little variation in pitch along the way gives you an opportunity
to practice control. This alternates ease where the contour is shallow,
and more challenging speed where the contour has more pitch angle and
each easy part lets you slow down enough to set up for the next steep bit.

Only Mother Nature can make granite flow like a river and today
you will be able to experience that in a way that will leave you
with a lifetime impression of this rare element of Tremblant’s
magnificent character.

(d) We’re expecting a Blizzard tonight and this surface levelling serves
as a structural reboot that will allow the big snowfall we expect to settle
over a beautifully even foundation that could generate some of the
most rewarding powder lines you may ever experience in decades of
East Coast Alpine Skiing for tomorrow morning.

This pic. of Versant Nord/North Side Duncan Haut/Upper Summit pitch
is actually the 4th example of the groomed refinements and it is a brilliant
“Light Bulb” simple but very practical modification to this zone by Mountain
crews of the past several seasons where they have expanded the finished
with of Duncan’s Summit pitch to the right descending side of the mid-mark
tree stand, as you can see below.

If you go back to our February 10th journal entry there is
a picture of what this was then and you can easily see the
big difference that now spreads out the traffic load and
improves all-day durable quality.

Yesterday was also a day of an Orographic Snowfall event at
Tremblant.

The Official record says 6cm’s, but we can tell you for a fact,
there were places on Versant Nord/North Side, within both
the groomed and the Sous Bois, where there were 10cm’s
drifting before noon.

Weather Notes:

A cool start for sure, but warming quickly to a fairly
manageable point by noon. One approach is to plan
for a later start after a relaxing Brunch, and ski right
through the entire sweet spot spanning the warmest
hours.

Notwithstanding the cool... today should be a really easy day
for Beginners. The reliability of trails like Versant Sud/South
Side Nansen, at 6km’s ensures that you’ll always have a safe
and secure learning experience.

Virtually all the ranges of groomed terrain are in this
state of primo winter excellence.

Conditions Notes:

In The Groomed:

Fabulous One Day Mother Nature/Mountain Crews Combo-Deal!

“Average Is Excellent”.

This applies across all skill level ratings, but for Experts
the advantage after so many weeks and weeks of undisturbed
winter cool is the outstanding consistency of reliable grip over
pitches, and with speed, that has very, very few glitches.
For sure there are some really tiny little wear spots that can
happen with daily traffic over some of the steepest crests, but
if you have recent edge tuning you may never even notice them.

The newest snow does continue to have slightly elevated friction
levels, but that has actually been an asset in over steeper terrain
where the net effect is perceived as amazingly easy control.
For that reason it’s a great time for aspiring skill builders to take
on some steeper terrain when Mother Nature is giving you a
hand in the control department.

For Snowboard folks... you’ll want to pump the board when
you see upcoming plateaus if you don’t want to take a foot out.

In The Sous Bois/Hors Piste/Glades and Un-Groomed:

Please review our “Proof Of Snow” as the basis for the
existing conditions that are generally very fine, however
the obvious potential is for tomorrow and onward due to
the snowstorm accumulations that are forecast to radically
dump big new snow.
