3/30/25 #Tremblant Conditions

91/102(*) Open Trails.

On a dull, grey day that’s forecast to end up “damp”...

It’s Important To Remember Why The First Tracks
Number Today Is 91/102.

What we consider to be the apex of this last week
of a very fine winter re-boot that has had 27cm’s of fresh snow...

In addition to the understanding of where we
start from this morning...
You could consider these retrospective pic’s from
earlier this week as sort-of a weekend highlight
summary for what might be the seasonal apex in
conditions and coverage as the weather for the
immediate future could profoundly affect the
trajectory of Open terrain over the remaining
3 weeks.

Above: Looking closely at the snow contrasted over the
tip of the ski, you can see the granular particle that is
mixed with conventional snow crystals to generate bulk
within the overall accumulation. There has also been a
slightly elevated friction level with the new snow, but
you will not likely perceive that as anything other than
a sense of easy control on steeper pitches.

Below: This is only one example of how Mountain
grooming crews have been harvesting snow from
trail sides for redistribution over the width of the
trail. In addition to the basic levelling that is obvious,
we think the ultimate benefit may be in the retained
scope of coverage as the spring weather sets in
over the next 3 weeks left in the official season.

Weather Notes:

When you look back over any given season you might
be able to generalize and say a season was "Really Snowy”,
“Not So Much Snowy”, Really Cold”, Kind-Of Warm”, etc., etc.,
for this one, we’d have to say it’s been a “Windy Winter” as
one very broad summary and looking at the wind component
in the forecasting below, it seems as though that might
continue to be a notable element, ongoing.

Otherwise... Whatever weather presents itself today,
at least it’s warm out...

Conditions Notes:

Generally:

Please Note: Active Weather Can Mean Changes
To The List Of Open Trails At Any Time.
For Best Results Check With The Summit Info. Ski Crews,
If Need Be, Every Run.

We might invoke some probability for our “80/20” Rule
for comparing trail elevation conditions to ground level
conditions where 80% of the time with this very close to
Zero C temp profile, conditions up over the trail network
are way better, far more favourable than the surrounding
base levels.

Of course we could be wrong, we could be very wrong
however experience shows that from an anecdotal
perspective, roughly 80% of the time, with similar
past weather anomalies, it is way better with less
rain, no rain, sometimes even snow, up over the trails.

We could be wrong.

In The Groomed:

Super smooth to begin with, and we think because the
weather forecast is likely to either keep folks at home
curled up in front of a warm fire, or if they are here for
first tracks, leaving early to beat bad driving weather,
we also think there may be relatively light traffic so the
smoothness could have all-day durability.

In The Sous Bois/Hors Piste/Glades and Un-Groomed:

Where open, or where forecast to open, totally a la Carte...

There could be millions of individual wild cards of favour
or not so favourable.

There will be select excellence and fun, there will be significant
Expert challenge, there will be hazard, there will be great reward
for patient, cautious and careful exploration but please, please...
respect all hand posted Ski Patrol trail closures, restrictions, cautions
and hazard signage.

If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

 If you “Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
