For Most Recreational Skiers,
Today Will Fit The Scientific Technical Definition Of...
“Yucky”.
Here’s the very best way to handle it...
Our standard wet weather protocol.
Today needs to be evaluated on 2 distinct levels,
“Atmospheric”, and “Surfaces”.
In terms of atmospheric, that’s the “Yucky” part.
The Descente brand poncho pictured above is
arguably the most efficient way to cope with any
rainy day.
In terms of surfaces, clinically speaking, there
will be vast tracts of open excellence because
soft freshly groomed default smooth surfaces
with almost zero traffic will literally be excellent
all day.
Weather Notes:
Here we go again with another very common
spring temperature cycle that oscillates above
and below Zero C.
If there could be a silver lining, it might be that
the cloud ceiling is very low over the Summit so
that can mean more misty conditions than outright
rain over trail elevations because rain is generally
more concentrated below the cloud, not so much
in the cloud. We could be wrong.

Generally:
All things considered, 81 Open trails to begin with is
a substantial amount of terrain which speaks volumes
about the degree of embedded frost support in the
base that is largely responsible for the durability we
are enjoying now. Back in late January and February
when we had weeks of -20’s C overnights and we wrote
about how that would benefit Spring conditions, well,
that’s “NOW", however...
With this kind of weather profile, it would not surprise
us to see one or more changes in the Open list today,
not necessarily because of loss of terrain, but more
likely due to resource management trail preservation.

If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.
When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.
There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.
