Vintage Post Cards, Brochures and any other Antique images:
Original Chalet des Voyageurs MONT TREMBLANT Lodge
This building was in use until the early 1970's
From very early on, Tremblant's creator Joe Ryan's vision was that of a 4 season
destination.
A putting green located in the original South Side base complex.
Here's a bit of Tremblant historic imagery from 1952, together
with the supporting descriptive detail showing it's use.
As you can see, this photo was sent to the Chicago Sun
newspaper in Feb. of 1952. The hand written notes show
where the the pic was to be displayed within the paper as
well as the size specified for the layout... Neat!

Post Card Image of "T" bar to Summit, South Side, time estimate
late 1940's to mid 1950's.
Here is another "T" bar Post Card pic. This one is harder to identify
because there's no "landmark" in the background like there is in the pic
above, where Lac Tremblant is very obvious. Two clues though, the first
is that this appears to be looking upwards, based on which side is drawing the
passengers, the second clue is that there are almost exclusively hardwood
trees in the background which would typically signify a location on the bottom
sectors of the Mountain. The farther up, the more predominant coniferous trees
become.
Of course, knowledgeable Tremblant fans will recognize this below as
"Flying Mile" on the South side, which at that time was the only
way up to the summit, via the TGV/"T" bar.
Here is a postcard pic from the bottom, looking up the
"Flying Mile". Judging by the design of the vehicles,
we're guessing this is a late 1940's shot.
At the top of Flying Mile the Mi Chemin lodge.
Dog Sledding has been a popular activity at Tremblant for decades.
As usual, we welcome any contributions to this archive
collection and would very much appreciate your participation!

Here is what appears to be an extension of the above postcard
shot, taken by moving the camera view to the immediate right,
looking at the Chapel.
Post Card shot South Side/Chapel, judging by look of the vehicles, late 1940's
A sharp-eyed car guy can see a 1949 or so Ford in the line. Tremblant South Side Lodges/Buildings 1944, Post Card Image Front and Back
so we definitely know when this is. Moving on,
Looking for additional input here that can add to the
time frame, location and character of this run.
"Tower Trail" Circa ?
Post Card Image of Taschereau from very early in Tremblant History.
If you have read our blog on Taschereau, then you will know that it's location
has been changed since the name was first used to label a trail, so we suspect
that this is likely a shot from somewhere on it's original path. There is no
readable date, however colour photography in Post cards was increasingly
common after World War 2. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Re: Tremblant History In Pictures
We were thrilled to find this image on the internet as it
clearly shows the state of development that was complete
on the North Side in the Mid 1960's. This is an expanded
image of a post card and while unfortunately we do not have
the back side, the posting individual of this pic has declared
that the postmark is from 1967. It would not be uncommon for
Post Cards to be sold that had images from either the current or
previous recent seasons, so it is possible that the actual photo
could be from 1965 or so.
One of the interesting aspects of this picture is that the Devils River Lodge
is still there. The North side was opened in 1948, so even though the
building is no longer actively used and it is in a deteriorated state of repair today,
it remains as a historical, visual link to the original use of this side of the
mountain as an Alpine Ski sector.
Below:
We really like this one!
Sissy Schuss, Versant Nord, the North Side, one of our favourite
Ski Runs in the entire world... a true masterpiece of Alpine descent
created in 1948 and remains essentially unchanged in character, but
carefully upgraded with modern pruning, snowmaking and grooming.
One of the most under-rated trails that actually rewards technical
proficiency with the ability to apply the most subtle technique refinements.
One of the finest Alpine Ski Practice/Learning Environments On Planet Earth.
Here it is from 1962 and anyone who knows it well enough to truly appreciate
it will instantly recognize it's simple brilliance.
Carry On With The 1960's !!!
This is a copy of an advertisement that appeared in Ski Magazine
in 1961 for the White Stag line of Ski Apparel. Sorry, can't tell you
which months edition.

Quite obvious from the above that Tremblant's history clearly shows
it's long established recognition for being a trend setting icon of both
Skiing fashion and technique!

Re: Tremblant History In Pictures - More Summer
Archival Additions, Summer
Before the development of complete road systems, much of the
access to "Remote" areas was by Aircraft. Canadian Bush Pilots
moved everything from Building Supplies to Tourists on Summer
Floats and Winter Skis.
From the very beginning, Joe Ryan's vision of Tremblant included
Summer Based Tourism. Archival Brochure Summer Display.
