Sunscreen/Eye Protection Alert!

Excellent Transitional Spring Conditions!

What that means is that things are indeed excellent, but you have
to take into account that each spring day can begin with very firm
surfaces due to overnight sub-zero temps, then change during the course
of the day, due to the suns energy working to soften them up.

Typical then, today starts well below zero, so the overnight low will
have produced areas that are very firm and there may be
some slick or icy portions until things warm up a bit with
the bright sun. That's the way it goes with spring. The summit
will probably not go above zero, however the thermal energy
of the sun may soften things up where the intensity can
be most direct, such as Soleil and other South sectors
on the McCulloch, Taschereau side. This possibility will increase
the lower you go in these areas as it gets warmer toward the
bottom.

The North will be just as bright, however there will be less
heat on the surface, so we feel more winter-like conditions will
prevail.

Typical of afternoons, the long shadows shelter the North(see above)
while they bake some sections of Soleil and South(see below).

The 2 pic's immediately above were taken within 20 minutes of each other.

There are some days when the advantage falls to the South/Soleil when
the sun softens it up better, reducing the chance of slick or icy bits
that may be more common on the North. This can be particularly true when
the daily spring transitional temps are just floating around the zero C mark.

Be careful to explore the Mountain at a reduced speed until
you can verify safe passage in terrain rated for your skill
level.

It is the nature of Spring to have highly variable surface qualities
of grip, traction and firmness, particularly as you go from one
side to the other, as well as from morning to afternoon.

Bottom Line On "Spring" Conditions:

Think Flexibly. If you find yourself in an area
where things are too soft, too firm, too etc., etc., try
the other "sides" of Tremblant.

The Sikwam Pass @ $149.00 is the best deal on Spring
Skiing/Boarding in the Laurentian's in our opinion.

Where else can you ski or board a Mountain with the scope
and variety of Tremblant for such an economical deal?
We think nowhere.

If you can get out to ski for the remaining weekends alone,
the cost per day is cheap. If you can add a couple of days off
mid-week, vacation or hooky, the cost becomes ridiculously cheap.
