T360 Middle of the Night Shift Apres Ski…
Best Sign Tomorrow will be Excellent.
Forecasters Say it may also bee the Last Day of Pure Winter Conditions
This Season?
It’s possible we may see them again, however the odds decrease
with as Time and Spring advance, so if you’re here for Thursday,
you may be one of the luckiest Skiers/Boarders on the East Coast
of North America...
-------------- 7:39 A.M. Orig. Post -----------------
70(*) Open Trails on the South and North Sides of Tremblant.(**)
We don’t think there could be a much Sweeter Appetizer
for your Day on the Mountain than this quick check of
the Web Cams before heading out…
Versant Nord, The North Side…
First Tracks Web Cam Eye Opener…
The Sun is Shining…
The Temperature at South Resort Base Levels is a very easy
Mild Winter -9C…
There is a nice dusting of Fresh Snowfall over the
Immaculately Groomed Trails on the Open List…
The Base is Seamless and almost completely free of
any significant Glitches…
It Is A Classic, Beautiful, "Post Card” and Very User Friendly
Day At Tremblant! …. as will also be Tomorrow!
Based on the currently available Weather Forecast, it would appear
that from a practical standpoint, “Spring” is going to arrive in
about 48 Hours from now. The Near term projections show a
marked rise in the daytime high temps to “+” values on Friday
Morning, so that leaves us with today and tomorrow as possibly the
last “Pure Winter” segment of the season’s Weather Patterns.
We define “Pure Winter” conditions as sustained, multi Day, Week or
longer 24 Hour Sub-Zero Temps where Alpine Snow Sport Trail Surfaces
are undisturbed by any “Thermal” influences. The benefit is the
absence of “Icy” as might be created by a daily softening from Plus
Value temps that would re-freeze with overnight sub-zero’s.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mid-Day Weather Update @ 1:55 P.M.
Please Note: There is not a single forecasted Precipitation event
in the graphic above that does not have the Potential to be all Snow
on the Mountain due to the very low “plus” temp values of the daytime
highs, and the consequent lower temps of Summit Elevations… not to mention...
that every single night has a Sub-zero value and the probabilities of
Snow increase dramatically if the Precipitation occurs at Night.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Of Course … after such an unusually long Winter, as “Cool” as that
has been… there are plenty of people who are very happy to look
forward to “Spring” Skiing and Boarding. For all those who fall
into that group, the near term holds the promise of truly exceptional
Spring conditions at Tremblant because of the extraordinary Quality
and Quantity of the Base.
We think it would be very difficult to find any year in the 75 Seasons
Of Tremblant that could match this level of Base Depth, Coverage or
Consistency of Surface Quality.
It’s not as if there haven’t been other Seasons with more Snow at this
stage, but this Seasons “Secret Weapon” is no doubt, the absolute depth
penetration of Frost into the Mountain which we estimate might be as much
as double. It is this immense Cold Reserve “Banked” against any source of
“Warm” that we think will ensure some of the most durable, complete
coverage towards the end of the season.

(**)Please Note: We have received several Communications regarding
the closure of the Edge and Soleil Sectors during the regular working
week days. We understand the natural desire of all Skiers/Boarders
to have as much Terrain Open as possible, however, we are not privy
to any information involving decisions on the number of Open Trails,
so we have respectfully advised that inquiries/feedback concerning
those issues be directly addressed to Tremblant’s Customer Service.
