T360 Middle of the Night Shift Apres Ski …@ 3:45 A.M. EST.

If you are a Member of the Group waiting for “Spring”...

From Thursday's 7:00 A.M. Low,(-24C) to the Friday Afternoon High(+5C) during
Open Hours…

The Temperature will have risen a total of 29 Degrees Celsius… WoW!

So basically, you get your wish.

Here’s what you can expect for Friday’s Weather Detail:

Skiing and Boarding Will Be Excellent “Winter” to “Spring”…
regardless of Weather, because there is no overnight Cyclical Ice
to begin with Friday Morning.

This means Friday is a One Day Only, Mother Nature Sale on Unique.

If you are prepared, dress code wise for the range of possibilities
as noted in the text of the above graphic, it will be a fabulous, fun day
of Very Forgiving, Super Carving Performance!

------------ 9:59 A.M. Orig. Post --------------------

69(*) Open Trails on South and North Sides of Tremblant.

Semi-Sunny Summit, Somewhat Overcast Base Levels….
Temps have already risen quickly from 7:00 A.M.’s -24 C to -11 C @ 10:00 A.M.

If you’ve been following along, you’ll be aware that today
may well be either the last, or close to the last, day of
Pure Winter Conditions this Season. Certainly with the run
of “Plus”, above freezing forecasted to start tomorrow, we
are getting “Instant Spring”, at least in terms of what we
expect for typical daytime thaw factors and nighttime freeze
factors.

The possibility exists that there could be a multi-day Sub-Zero
series of days again… anyone who shared in the Spectacular
finale to Last Season can attest to some unbelievable April
Closing Winter Conditions, however that is all speculation, so
all we know for sure is that today is “Winter” and tomorrows
going to be “Spring”.

Official Tremblant Information pertaining to the remainder of the
Season was published in the Blog Section of Tremblant.ca and we
are including the text of that release for all Tremblant Fans who
are interested in the status of available Open Terrain from this
point forward.

----------- Blog Text of Tremblant.ca Spring 2014 Operation Plan ------------

“Our Spring season mountain operation plan is now underway. Its
evolution will be based on three criteria: the amount of snow on the
mountain, temperatures, and the number of skiers and snowboarders.
Based on these criteria, different areas of the mountain will be open
or closed after April 7. We invite you to keep an eye on the Snow
Conditions page on Tremblant.ca to stay informed of the latest news.

In summary:

March 17:
Lowell Thomas and Edge lifts will be closed on weekdays

March 24:
Soleil Side closed on week days.
Porte du Soleil lift closed for the season (except March 28-29-30)

March 31:
Edge and Soleil Side closed for the season.”

------------------- end of Text -----------------------

As we said yesterday, we certainly understand the continued expression
of desire by Tremblant Guests to have the most Open Terrain possible,
so with this clarification of the Official Policy, we would once again suggest
that any concerns or feedback be addressed directly to Tremblant’s Customer
Service Team.

Moving forward… What we can tell you for sure is that whatever is Open
will be, in and of itself, Very, Very Fine.

There are two principle factors for what we think will be the superlative
condition of the Available Open Terrain.

1) The Depth of Seasonally Accumulated Snow.

Let’s look at the "Snowfall To Date” Stat’s:
March 27th, 2014 ------ 470 CM’s
March 27th, 2013 ------ 477 CM’s
March 27th, 2012 ------ 349 CM’s
March 27th, 2011 ------ 375 CM’s
March 27th, 2010 ------ 239 CM's
March 27th, 2009 ------ 426 CM’s

One can only conclude that it has been an Excellent year
for Natural Snowfall compared to any recent Season.

2) Frost Depth into the interior Substrates of the Mountain.

We do not have the stat we need for this because we’re not
even sure it exists, however there are many other areas
of Eastern North America where Frost Depth Records do exist
and in many cases they are double the normal for this date.
Seeing as Tremblant is just as much as part of the Geographic
region as anywhere else, it’s not hard to surmise that the Frost
Depth is the same extra amount here.

Given that conclusion, this extra Frost is going to act as a Giant
Cold Storage System that will radiate Cold outwardly for weeks
and weeks, helping to maintain the integrity of the Well Compacted
Snow Base.

The Bottom Line On This Point Is:

As Tremblant Guests, we all have the same amount of Open Terrain
that Resort Management offers, what Mother Nature is going to do is...
ensure that whatever we have access to will have an outstanding
platform for Mountain Crews to perform their daily Grooming Magic on.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
