47(*) Open Trails on the South And North Sectors of Tremblant.
If you looked at the Official Snow Report last night to see what
the schedule was for todays Openings, you’re going to be a bit
surprised this morning.
Evidently, something happened between yesterday’s 59(*) Preliminary
Open Trail Count(which thankfully we always acknowledge, must be…
“Subject To Morning Confirmations”), and Today’s 47(*) Open Trails.
We included a Raw Data Copy of that Preliminary List in last
nights, “Middle of the Night Shift Apres Ski”, you can use the
“Previous Topic” button, screen right, above… to go back for a look
at that. ((**) We’ve added a Quick Comparison Graphic on that below.)
We’re not sure what that was other than perhaps colder than expected
Overnight Low Temps at Mountain Elevations. That could have created
excessive Trail Icing that required Progressive Openings for Safety as
determined by the Ski Patrol.
The Official Tremblant.ca Snow Report states:
“Please take note that several of our runs will have a
progressive opening and that the data may change at
any time according to the snow conditions and the weather.”
The unusual part is that there are no “Progressive” labeled
Trail Openings on the actual support Graphic attached to
that statement, not even one.
(**)
We think that’s probably a Technical Data Entry Error Glitch, we think
there’s still a good chance you’ll see the Open Trail List expanded to include
some, if not all of what we’ve highlighted in the above comparison.
Weather Notes:
Sunny with a daytime high of +6 C and a strong Nor-West Wind
crossing the Summit from the Nansen, La Crete Sector, towards
the top of Duncan.
As long as the Summit Sectors stay Sub-Zero, you’re going to need
Sharp Edges to maximize any competent performance as you will no
doubt be encountering highly variable surface characteristics from
frozen solid to very soft and everything in-between.
Long term, in this case Sunday, Monday, the end of the season, still
look good for Sunny up ’til Monday evening at about 8:00 P.M, when
there is some probability of rain developing.
The current model suggests tonight will be the last Sub-Zero for the
season. Therefore, when it softens up tomorrow, with a Sunday overnight
Low at +5 C, it should stay soft right through to Monday at Last Run.

If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.
GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu
When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.
There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.
(

First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
