When you’re up at 5:10 A.M. and you want to select a pic.
from your archive files that you think will come close to
the way the day will start, for mornings like this one we
love this “Go To” Corduroy Shot above. There’s just no way
that things could be anything other than miles ’n miles
of flawless surfaces to begin with.

A review of the weather Forecast Graphic below shows the South Side
reaching the Plus Temp’s at around 9:00 A.M., so with the morning
shadows, the softening will begin to dominate at around 11:00 A.M.
or so and there will be progressive rates of softness from that point
forward.

The South will continue to soften all day long, but once the process
starts, quite quickly.

The North typically exhibits a slower rate of softening, a comparison
that’s particularly apparent later in the afternoon when Trails
like P’tit Bonheur, Axle, and Andy Moe all have at least partial ground
level shade.

Specifically, the right side of P’tit Bonheur will have more shade as
will other North Side wide runs. Axle as an example of a Narrow trail
will have almost complete late afternoon shade and consequently
may hold better, less moisture saturation in top layers.

Cruising in the Shade of the Trail-Side Trees is a great trick to finding
Speed and Glide when everyone else out in the Direct Bright Light are
finding things a wee bit “Sticky”.

No doubt, “Warm” Range Wax/Base Coatings that are Hydrophobic
or Water Repellant will be a HUGE asset in Speed and Glide when the
increasing Moisture Saturation of Thawing Top layers will represent
drag for all those that do not have that preparation done.

As “Spring” as the Temp’s may be…

The Deep Frost of this Super Cool Winter is still preserving
and supporting a Very Fine , and Very Durable Base.

Excellent Conditions For The 3rd Week Of April !!!
