14(*) Open Trails on South and North, Both Summit to Base,
Sides of #Tremblant.

Please Note: If you are a Regional Tremblant Weekender, you have
a “Never, Ever Before” amount of Open Terrain to Ski/Board on for this date.
Fill up the vehicle and toss the gear in tonight and be set to head for
Tremblant as early as you can!

The primary source of the increase in the Open Trail Count by 5 from yesterday
is the Opening of the new Versant Nord, North Side Summit to Base descent
path formed by Superieur to Jasey.J Bas, Lower(formerly known as Giant), and
the lower Duncan Run-Out down to the North Base and the Duncan Quad Chair.

We had hoped to have time to do an Apres Ski on currently active Tremblant
Snowmaking last eve., however that was not possible, so we’re making that
the theme of todays report. Additionally, we think there may be a wee jump
in the Open Trail numbers for the weekend, so this is particularly important
for Regional Tremblant Fans who may be sitting on the fence, so to speak,
about coming out.

an exceptional job of both Production and Grooming.

Based on previous years experience, we feel the bulk of the South side
snowmaking is focused on Course Support for the 24Hour Children’s Charity
Fundraiser, as well as a Summit-to-base accommodation for Non-Participants
and Beginners on McCulloch, Nansen Haut, upper, Mi Chemin and Biere-En-Bas.

Here’s a telephoto shot taken from across Lac Tremblant that pretty much
shows the bulk of the South Snowmaking.

The Burgundy Circle shows Biere-En-Bas.
The Yellow Circle shows Beauvallon/Alpine.
The Purple Circle shows the initial moments
of McCulloch, Haut, Upper, but if you follow it
down, you can see lower McCulloch already has
quite a bit of coverage.
The Blue Circle shows Nansen Haut, Upper,
but also connects to Mi Chemin which is out
of sight here behind the Flying Mile sector.
The Tan circle shows Dernier Cri.
The Orange circle shows Johannsen.
The Green circle shows Roy Scott.

Snowmaking re: Versant Nord, North Side.

This pic below was taken on Wed. afternoon late, at the Summit entrance
to Superieur, and on Friday Morning it will be milled flat as a pancake with
a top layer of Corduroy for your Skiing and Boarding enjoyment.

Additional Nord, North Side Snowmaking is in the Sector serviced by the
Expo Quad. This pic. below was taken from the top of the Duncan Quad
looking back down over the top of the Expo Quad and you can see the
Snowmaking path going both directions. Left is toward Sissy Shuss Haut, upper
and Gagon, down to the Lowell Thomas Triple Base. To the right, is Vanier, leading
to Duncan.

We think the Gagnon Side down to Lowell T. will be developed first because of
this:

Perhaps the best clue to that is the fact that there is not yet snowmaking at
the mid-point of Duncan where Vanier intersects, so it seems that side will be
a while longer.

This is what’s going on at the Versant Nord, North Base. It’s “Fill in the blanks”
with some of the big guns working around the clock to cover the whole North
base for convenient access to both Expo and Duncan Quads.

Weather Notes:

This graphic, courtesy of The Weather Network shows you what
you need to know.

Sunday has the possibility of +5C and “Mixed” Precip., so if you have a choice,
Saturday seems to be the good one so far.

We MUST POINT OUT THOUGH... even Sunday could be great because with
temps this close to freezing at base level, on the Mountain it could be all Snow,
especially Summit and North Sectors.

experienced in the 76 year history of Tremblant as a Ski Resort since 1939.
