There were some spots of brightness, however, in our travels
over Tremblant today, we don’t think we saw more than a few
distant slivers of actual “Sunshine”.

The Skiing was exactly as expected, very fast, good edge set capability
for the most part, with odd slick bits, but again, in our travels, no real
Icy bits to speak of.

All remarks addressed to Conditions assumes you have recent, sharp, tuned edges.
Otherwise, you may have found it substantially more difficult.

There were some tennis ball sized “Crunchies” in a few places, like just
below the Edge Sector entrance of of Beauchemin, but they were not
overwhelming and quickly traversed.

Pitit Bonheur was close to Flawless again today and the speed on it was
way up there with other mid-season days of similar firmness, so it continues
to be a “Goto” slope for early North Side Lapping/Training.

The rather flat, grey light of today and recent days has been challenging
for photography, so pic’s like the one above have had the contrast, highlights,
definition and saturation turned way up to show Snow detail. We hope
you can see those very deep, sculpted Carving Tracks showing the high
performance you can achieve.

These surfaces were equally as good for Learning....
And the kids were haven’ a Riot!

In other News, Snowmaking goes on in Multitudes of places and with the Temp
Drop nicely into the Sub-Zero’s, it certainly seems to cranked up, and producing
very well.

There will be many Very Happy People excited to see McCulloch
under Snowmaking Construction. We think it’s good to have a
nice, wide, Skiable trail, right down the front, visible from across
the lake where tourists take pic’s. It really helps with that “Winter”
look, not to mention, it’s one of our Fav. South Side Runs!

----------------- Orig. Post @ 6:14 A.M. -------------------

13(*) Open Trails on the South and North, Summit to Base, Total Mountain
Vertical Access, at #Tremblant.

There can be no doubt now that Tremblant’s precious Alpine Snow Sport
Terrain has survived the recent warm weather with surprising quality. It was
Winter all day on the Mountain yesterday.

For sure, you can’t go from +9C to Zero or below and not have snow surfaces
become solid, but we want to point out that “Solid” is a far cry from “Icy” due
to modern grooming techniques. This is a huge difference from years gone by.
Today, as was yesterday, with reasonably sharp, fresh edges, navigating the
groomed surfaces should be super easy and very fast with little or no tendency to
have the “Sheet Ice”(**) effect that we might have expected in years gone by
after this kind of normal late fall thermal weather cycle.

((**)Of course there are a few Icy bits, particularly below some contour crests
and/or high traffic/wear patterns, but they are so minor that from beginner
to expert, they are momentary and not a problem when navigated with appropriate
care.)

Last Run on Beauchemin, right beside the Lowell Thomas Triple Chair
Base Loading Zone at the runout from Rigodon.

Basically, the packed, compressed trail Snow shed off most of the heat
and wet and came through in remarkably good shape to continue the trend
set on Opening Day as the finest Seasons Opening in the history of the Resort
from 1939.

For all previous Tremblant Novembers, none compare to what Skiers/Boarders
have now in both outright covered acres or quality.

The Views, of course, are always spectacular, regardless of what the Sky
looks like, maybe even more dramatic with the cloud dynamic moving
rapidly across.

More later as time permits... Just go if you can. Truly the best Early Season
Conditions Skiers/Boarders have ever had at Tremblant. It was Snowing lightly
all afternoon, it was snowing when we left the North Base and it snowed
overnight. Not a lot, but enough to add to the overnight grooming improvements
for sure.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
