Posted: Fri Jan 09, 2015 6:59 am
T360 Apres Ski Edit under construction at 9:30 P.M.
If you’re a Regional Tremblant Fan within, say, an 4 hour drive, and you’re
trying to make a decision about going to Tremblant Tomorrow...
Maybe this will help...
1.9.15.Tremblant.360.Proof.Of.Snow. Additional to follow as time permits... but go out now and get Fuel, and as soon
as you get back from that, load up the Skis ’n Boards before you go to bed.
Do Not Pack Your Ski Boots In Car Tonight, keep them warm, inside.
What you’re looking forward to tomorrow is the very finest of Early January Conditions
featuring Abundant Natural Snow ...
This is a very light, dry, very cold formed Snow Crystal that
has a high mechanical bond in its current wind packed delivery
format, courtesy of Mother Nature. This is a Macro-sample
adjacent to the “Proof Of Snow”, above.
That Is Still Falling....
Over a base that is so smooth and seamless, for much of your day you will
feel like you are floating in space.
If you are an Upcoming Tremblant Trip Planner for the rest of this Season...
Relax... Tremblant holds every promise of Excellent Conditions whenever
you arrive and find yourself looking at this...
From this point forward, if Tremblant does nothing other than remain within
Statistical, Seasonal Averages, the fundamental quality as it exist right this second,
should carry us through with performance levels of the highest order.
At The End Of The Day, The only Question is...
When do you get here?

The Escalation of Evidence concerning Tremblant Condition Improvements...
Just Keeps On Piling Up...
More New Snow!
1.8.15.Lowell.T.To.Duncan.Banzai.MCA.Mid.Point.Cat.Track.f.jpg We use this location above frequently as a benchmark because of it’s
sensitivity to Weather Conditions and because it has no direct Snowmaking
Support. So, when things are very good here, that’s due to Natural Factors
and it can be reasonably deduced that conditions of adjacent Sector proximity
that do get extensive Snowmaking and more routine Grooming Cycles, will be
of a higher standard beyond.
Sequential Days like we are going through now, of Natural Snow Accumulations,
Steady Sub-Zero Temp. Stability, and Repeated Grooming Cycles help define the
character of a season.
Up to about a week ago that character was more difficult to see or define due to
the very normal Late Fall, Early Winter Up’s ’n Down’s of sometimes dramatic
weather warm/cold gyrations.
This past several days has changed all that and what we see now is the quite
rapid maturity of Surface Conditions that are responding to Cumulative, Positive
Elements of both Mother Nature and Mountain Crews contributions and the shift
in Weather Balance to a more pure Winter profile.
Tremblant Mountain User Utility Advisory:
Snowmaking can result in localized Vision Reduction.
Some people who were here yesterday are going to say that is an understatement.
Navigation in Fog while wearing Goggles that may have Lens more suited for clear
daylight can be difficult, but the only sensible thing to do is Slow Down and try to
proceed to a sector that has less or no vision problems.
The Snowmaking is absolutely necessary. As Farmers say: ”Make Hay While
the Sun Shines” and Mountain Crews need to Make Snow While the Temps
are appropriate in order to ensure the durability and quality of the base for
the intended length of the season.
We have met some people who feel a sense of entitlement for 100% clear
sailing 100% of the time. We respectfully disagree because a “Season” is not
just about “Today”, and if we want all the “Tomorrows” until early April, then
all the basics need to be built up until the reserves of depth and coverage are
achieved to the specifications that Historical patterns show will be durable
throughout that timeframe.
So then... as much fun as it is to play in these Very Sweet Little Powder Lines
on the South Side all the way down Nansen for almost it’s entire length with
this vision...
1.8.15.Sud.South.Nansen.Bas.Lower.Last.Run.Foggy.Little.Powder.Lines. ... and this pic’s had the contrast, highlights and definition turned and burned
way up, just so we could make out any detail in Pea Soup Fog....
Why not go here....
1.8.15.Nord.North.Fuddle.Duddle.Bas.Lower.Equisite.Satin.Smooth.Snow. ...where there are entire Sectors of not only excellent long range vision,
but some of the most Exquisitely Satin Smooth, Very Fast, Radical Carving,
High Performance Snow You’ve Ever Been On!(**)
In the fingerprint of each days uniqueness, the most ideal conditions may
be found in totally different Sides and Locations within Tremblant’s Vast
4 Sided array of Terrain.
Prudent Exploration reveals them and Experienced Mountain Users at Tremblant,
or Any Other Ski Resort you care to name for that matter, will find and be found
within those Sweet Spots taking full, All Day advantage of them.
Weather Notes:
Overcast Snowfall Sky’s with a daytime high temp at -8C and
moderate to strong Sou-West, possibly shifting to West winds.
Compared to recent super-cold, this will be Super-Easy!
MORE FRESH SNOW LAST NIGHT... about 12 CM’s but with
the winds, drifting to greater depths should have occurred.
We’ll see if we can find any of that!

((**)For some reason, yesterday had some truly unique and very fine
surfaces. Difficult to describe, but we tried with ”Liquid Smooth”. We’re
not sure if they’ll be there the exact same way today, but we sure hope so.
You can read more about them in last eve’s Apres Ski.)
