Typically, Mother Natures own best Snowmaking temps are at around minus 7 C,
but occasionally, she does produce what we call “Cold Formed Snow” at much lower
temp’s, and that’s what we have had fall all this past 4 days or so.

In addition to the very light, dry characteristics of very cold formed snow, the
delivery in the course of higher wind velocities has created unique Drifting
and deposits around Tremblant’s Summit Sectors, particularly on the North.

Snow Coverage in and around Surface Contours is highly variable and this pic.
below shows that even above ground, wind packed snow has managed to
accumulate in the Trees in large amounts.

Weather Notes:

Starts out very early cool @ -22C and partially Sunny. Temps rising dramatically
to -12C as Snowfall clouds move in around Noon. Winds Moderate in Speed from
the West to begin with and possibly shifting a bit Sou-West as the front and the day
progress, so basically coming up over the Summit from the Soleil Sector as they
move across towards Lowell Thomas.

Compared to the early low of -35 C of just a couple of days ago, it feels Hot
outside now!

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
