Today was very similar to yesterday....
Very Near Perfect Winter Weather. A bit cool to be sure to start with, but by lunch
quite nicely warmed up, a difference you could feel in the Snow between South and
the shaded North.
All Sides Are Fast.
The consistency of the Groomed Terrain is the main ingredient of Skier/Boarder
Confidence at higher Skill Levels because the Carving Performance allows
complete focus without having to worry at all about whether or not the next
turn is going to lose grip.
Any perceptions you have about the existence of minor Slick or Icy bits
will be directly proportional to your Ski or Board Edge Tuning, or lack thereof.
If you have recent/good edges, you will not notice any.
North Park, Rope Tow News:
Mountain Crews are re-configuring the North Park on Rope Tow(trail #68)
and that work is now complete for the time being. We say “For the Time Being”,
as Crews responsible for this area have indicated that they are trying different
module arrangements in order to find what combinations work or get best
responses/feedback.
We had hoped to get there today but ultimately we did not have enough time
to adequately photograph the whole sector, so we’re going to try for tomorrow.
South Adrenaline Park Update:
There are an impressive array of XL’s in this Parc Zone.

Almost There, Almost 100% Open Tremblant!
Mountain Utility Note-A:
The Summit entrance to Duncan has been very wisely modified to
utilize a greater portion of the width that was formerly Saute-Moutons
directly under the Duncan Quad.
Snowmaking was set up there over the last week and in the past couple of
days Mountain Crews have used the Groomers to spread the big Snowmaking
bumps to fill the contour under the chairlift to the parallel hight of Duncan itself
and the net result is a very user friendly wide access to Duncan Haut, Upper.
This width allows substantially more room to traverse the top of the Pitch
and that makes it hugely easier for confident Intermediates who now have
all this additional room to make shallow turns on the steepest part.
The Width Extension runs all the way down to the Devils River entrance.
Whoever thought of this Great concept gets our “Brilliant Idea Of The Month” Award!
This section was a classic “Bottleneck” that due to it’s narrowness and steepness
was often prone to a slick or Icy base. This very sensible modification is a simple
and very useful enhancement for everyone who enjoys the Terrain below this point.
Mountain Utility Note-B:
Nord, North Park Terrain “Rope Tow” was back Open yesterday after
a time-out that Mountain Crews used to do Grooming Machine work on.
Sorry we did not get pic’s there yesterday so we’ll try to get there today
for an update on the modules current conditions.
---------------- Conditions Caveat ------------------
Un-groomed Expert Terrain has wear factors that are now exposing
some Natural Hazards of Wood and Rock that require careful navigation.
It should be noted that these hazards are very, very small in relation to the
total Un-Groomed area, however...
Caution should be used in both initial explorations to first identify and then
in subsequent passage around them, as traffic can cause differences in hazard
exposure over the course of time.
------------------- End Of Caveat ------------------
Weather Wise:
Today is virtually a “Carbon Copy” of Yesterday with maybe a couple
of degrees C Higher daytime temp that could reach -8C.
The Brilliant Intensity of the Sunshine can be quickly felt as Warmth
where-ever it is safe to pull over in any breeze-sheltered Trail Side spot.
Air Speed on descent is the primary cause of heat loss though, so if
you’re moving at a good clip, you’ll want to keep Exterior Garment
Closures tight and well sealed.
Of course... any sunny day at Tremblant gets you spectacular scenery
so do not forget to have plenty of Camera Memory when you hit the Slopes!
