94(*) Open Trails on the 4 Super Scenic Sides of #Tremblant.
The Last Three Days Have Been...
So Bright You Need Shades...
Plus... The Intensity Of The Solar Energy Over The Past 3 Days...
has been enough to melt quite a bit of the Snow in the Trees,
despite the ambient air temp’s highest spike at around -7C.
Above:
The thawing of Tree Snow has occurred due to the dark colour of the tree
boughs and needles that have absorbed the Solar energy and raised their
internal temps just enough to cause the melt. But... as you can see above,
this has not happened with all the trees, only the ones directly facing
the late afternoon Sun, to the left of the Lowell Thomas Off-Load Zone.
The trees to the right, that are behind the Ski Patrol Summit H/Q are in the
shadow of the building and that is enough shade to inhibit the heat.
Generally...
The Snowy Tree Winter Appearance has survived more visibly on the North due to
the natural shade that exists there.
All this Solar Energy has added to the comfort level of Skiers and Boarders,
but it has not touched the White Reflective Groomed Snow Surfaces in any
way that has diminished their Pure Winter Performance Qualities.
The Official Tremblant.ca Snow Report says “There is something for everyone” and
they are absolutely correct. Within all Rated and Posted Skill Level Terrain, there
is a wide range of selection, particularly within the Groomed inventory where the
level of Aggressive Carving Traction and Lateral Grip are capable of taxing the very
strongest of Experts Endurance Limits and Beginners and Intermediates can find many,
many Kilometres of Superbly Satin Smooth Snow that are an Easy Joy to Ski/Board on.
Tremblant Parc Fans:
Sud, South Side Adrenaline Parc On-Line:
Todays Weather Notes:
Overcast, with partial daytime sun forecasted between 10:00 and 2:00,
but at this stage, looking out the window, it seems as though the sun part
may be difficult for Mother Nature to achieve. The Clouds look pretty thick.
The Temps should rise to about -7C after lunch and by Last Run, they’re
supposed to reach up to -4C, so a very easy winter day.
Moderate Sou-West breezes should be crossing the Summit from the Taschereau
side headed towards Lowell T.
---------- Conditions Caveat -----------
Some Un-groomed Expert Trails have Natural Hazards due
to Traffic Wear patterns and require reduced speed and
cautious initial exploration to verify safe passage.
Some hazards may be covered by thin layers of user
displaced snow and not be easily visible.
Expert Ski Skills that include Very Short Radius Parallel
Turning Technique to utilize narrow Trail Edges are
recommended for Hazard avoidance.
----------- end of Caveat --------------------

The Deep Overnight lows have done wonderful things to the Snow Surfaces
and every morning Tremblant Guests have been treated to some of the very
finest Groomed Trails that we can ever recall.
Additionally, the Deep Overnight lows have put Frost further and further into the
core of the Mountain creating a Gigantic Cold Reserve that no doubt will enhance
the durability, quantity and quality of the season far beyond the start of any Spring
Weather.
