T360 Apres Midnight, Apres Ski @ 12:30 A.M.

As far as any fanatical Skier would be concerned, the Snow Surface Quality
would have to be the most important single factor regarding the analysis
of the day.

But...

what if you found that Snow Surface Quality presented to you in this format...

Behind the Scenery... the Ski/Board Performance is thrilling, maybe it’s the
most thrilling thing the recreational Athlete can do in terms of that much Speed
with that little equipment between the person and the surface they’re moving over...

You’re just starting your Tremblant Winter Holiday!

As we start the week off, there’s a good chance that a lot of the folks
out on the Mountain are here on a Ski or Board Holiday. Most of the
Local/Regional regulars are home for Work or School, or both, and
aren’t able to make it out until weekends, so Tremblant Holiday Guests
have the whole place to themselves!

Of course there are some locals out too. Those clever enough to arrange
mid-week days off, retired people, regional Tremblant fans that plan Winter
Ski/Board Week holidays too, but no matter, on a gorgeous, sunny Tuesday
at the end of January, it will seem as though you may be the only one on the
Mountain sometimes as Tremblant’s vast Open Trail Network swallows up
all the Guests and you have all the Nooks and Crannies to yourself.

48 Hours Ago We Wrote:

"The New Snow may have been drifted around a fair bit and with that wind push
over the Summit, quite a bit of that drifting could be in the upper Nord, North
Sectors between Lowell Thomas and Superieur."

Weather Notes:

Starts Sunny, Cool @ -20C, so not so cool as recent, and warming to -10C
by mid-afternoon.

The Wild Card is the North Wind. It could be very Gusty. Gusty enough
to cause Tremblant.ca to recommend locals drive to the North in case
Lift Operations are affected.

Regardless of temp’s.... Outer Garment Layer Seals and Overlaps are going to be
Critical for comfort. WindChill could be a big factor, especially sitting on a Chairlift.

On the Ground... particularly within the confines of the narrower tree-lined trails,
the wind is less pronounced, even calm, and you are generating heat by exercise,
so no problem.

This is a highly variable dynamic so all you can do is be ready to react with
Layers, seals, Vents and Overlaps.

Tremblant360 recommends Helmet Use 100%, so if you’re still Skiing/Boarding
with a Toque, today’s a good reason to go get a Helmet. You’ll be safer, and Warmer.
Considering that 60-70% of your heat is radiated out through the top of your head,
we wonder why anyone still Skis/Boards without a Helmet for Heat loss alone,
notwithstanding the primary Safety concerns.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
