to almost 8 inches received of Fresh, New, Powder Snow!

Some of the New Snow fell after last night’s Grooming so you can expect

(^^) Abundant, Fresh New Snow can have variable and sometimes deep
drifting accumulations that can be substantially greater than the statistical
total. It can also take a couple of days to even out surfaces over the whole
500 some-odd Groomed acres.

For Experts, it’s a heavenly thing...

For Beginners and Intermediates there will be tons of great Groomed Terrain
to begin with, however... there may also be some thicker, tracked-up bits too.

Even when initially Groomed, abundant new snow can have softer top layer
consistency that you may find susceptible to catching an edge. This is due to
the “Springiness” of the surface layers that allow your Skis or Board to sink
slightly below the surface. That little depression under your running edges
can hook them if you’re not paying attention. Speed is not your friend if you
aren’t an Expert, so please keep control at all times.

Important Weather Notes:

Temp’s are actually dropping during the day today and forecasted to
get down to -12C by Last Run. This indicates the passage of the
Snowy Weather system off to the East and a return to influences from
the arctic as colder dryer air masses move into the region. There may even
be moments of Blue Sky mid-aft., Moderate Breezes from the Nor-West,
coming up Beauvallon. Temps will drop back down to -25 C in the Friday
overnight, but we’re actually looking forward to those crisp low temps to
Cryogenically Freeze-dry the new snow into Super Fine Surfaces for tomorrow and on.

Of more particular interest to Tremblant Fans and Trip Planners:

December 29th, 2014 was the last day the Mountain had “+” “Plus”,
above freezing temp exposure, so we are enjoying an extended run of what we
call “Pure Winter”, or consistent 24 hour ‘round the clock sub-zero temp’s
on Mountain Snow Surfaces that is now over 1 month.

This is a Most Excellent and Beneficial Weather Scenario for a Ski Resort!

The stability of the base, and the quality of the top layers under this long running
weather pattern is exactly what we like to see for optimum day-after-day performance,
and the refinement of the total Groomed Surface area that comes with many, many
overnight Grooming Cycles and Low night-time Temps.

The Existing, Sustained Excellence of the Groomed Trail Surfaces are only
possible with the complete absence of any Thermal Spikes, so we are most
appreciative for Tremblant’s Northerly Latitude that has facilitated the preservation
of such Very Fine Pure Winter Alpine Snow Sport conditions.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
