1/31/15 #Tremblant Conditions
Posted: Sat Jan 31, 2015 10:15 am
96/96(*) Open Trails on the 100%, Fully Opened, 4 Sides of #Tremblant!
Basically, “Excellent” is going to become “More Excellent”.
The Next Three Days, including today, will see a Significant level of Groomed
Terrain Refinement.
The benefits of that process will extend to all Skill Levels, however Beginners
and Intermediates will see the most enhancements within their terrain as
compaction density of the top layers of the recent Fresh Snow becomes greater
as the result of multiple overnight Grooming Cycles.
Above: The Importance of this shot above is that it represents “Before” and “After”
all at once, in terms of Both... the daily Trail Maintenance routines of Mountain Crews,
as well as Mountain Ski/Board Guest Utility.
The noteworthy part as far as we are concerned is the fact that this pic was shot
at about 4:00 P.M., so the start on Grooming will be enjoyed by the next mornings
Guests, but at “Last Run”, todays guests are still Skiing/Boarding on such obvious
remaining end-of-day Quality.
This is one primary benefit of over a Month of “Pure Winter” weather that has not
seen any above freezing thermal spikes what-so-ever. Consequently, every single
Tremblant Ski/Board Guest gets to enjoy the totally reliable conditions performance
between “Before" and “After”, each and every day this Ideal Weather pattern continues for.
Glitches? Hazards? ... of course, nothing involving the immense forces of Mother
Nature and the works of Humans can be Perfect, but when comes to Ski/Board
Tremblant Winter Alpine Snow Sport Trails, the Mountain Crews here come as close
to perfect as the current technologies allow and we think those results are just
about the very finest Skiing and Boarding you will ever experience in Eastern North
America. From a technical standpoint, we’d even say anywhere in the world, when it
comes to Groomed Trail Comparisons.
When it comes to the numbers and types of “Glitches” that can happen at any
Ski Resort, and even though there are other regional Ski Resorts that have very
good teams, one huge advantage we have at Tremblant is the consistency of
uninterrupted “Pure Winter” weather that means Crews here can concentrate on
refinement, while Crews of more Southerly Latitude have to deal more frequently
with recovery efforts due to Thermal Thaw/Freeze cycles.
Mountain Utility Note:
Due to Extended Daylight Hours, Last Run, effective today, becomes 3:45,
adding an additional 15 minutes from 3:30. For those Locals who may have
Morning obligations, the longer afternoon Opening offers roughly 2 more runs.
Weather Details:
The return of cooler air masses is going to mean close attention to
outer layer closures is going to be just as critical as insulation layers.
Today’s daytime high @ South Base Level is forecasted to be -14C, but
those “Cooler” air masses are going to generate some even lower numbers
over the next 3 days or so. Very Sunny, very cool.
Since there is not a single thing that can control Mother Natures Thermostat,
it remains up to us to add the necessary layers, the bonus we get to enjoy
is the outstanding performance characteristics of the Snow. It’s no secret
we love the very high levels of responsiveness in Squeaky Cold Snow and
it appears as though we’ll be getting a fair share of that until at least
Wednesday.
