The Snow is really starting to pile up around Tremblant. You can see
it gathering just about everywhere.

forecasted though...

The accumulations were rapid and thick. Not really heavy though, as Snow
formed at temp’s this cold do not have any internal moisture and are almost
always very light.

No doubt though, Beginners and Intermediates were finding day long, deep
snow challenges tiring, and we got lots of feedback about that Apres Ski.

Experts were having all the thrills they could handle on an endless supply of
powder lines and those lasted right up to “Last Run”.

The degree of “User Friendly” in tomorrows conditions will be
directly proportional to tonights Grooming Shift, at least for
Beginners and Intermediates. Experts will continue to enjoy
a Winter Playground with almost every imaginable condition
from Highway Grade Corduroy, to Bump ’n Grind un-groomed
raw Winter Deep.

At -27C for Sunrise Forecast, the “Winter” in this season certainly is
showing evidence of unquestionable durability.

Daytime High of only -20C, so a “Bundle Up” Alert is Totally Appropriate.

T360 Early Apres Ski Edit @5:48 P.M.

Good Thing It’s A Ski Resort...

More later as time permits. At the rates of todays accumulations, it was very
good “Workout Snow”.

For Beginners and Intermediates Overnight Grooming will be the critical
element of tomorrow’s utility.

For Experts, it’s a Blast!

Below:

Let’s Call This “Average”...

...And Let’s Call “Average” “Excellent”

...because that’s what it is.

“Average” and “Excellent” may seem like a conflicting use of terms, and they are
when used as a direct comparison, but...

...when “Average” and “Excellent” are used as relative terms, they can both
be used in sequence to indicate that Average Trail Conditions at Tremblant
right now, are indeed, Excellent.

You don’t need to be a Rocket Scientist to see the quality of either the Snow
or it’s Performance characteristics with this pic. above and the absolutely
most wonderful, joyous thing about it is that what you see above is Average
for Tremblant’s total array of Groomed Trail inventory today.

On Top Of That... It Snowed Some More Last Night!

It’s No Secret...

We Appreciate Tremblant In Any Weather, and we’ve certainly seen quite a
range from almost white-out Snowy to not a cloud in the sky, brilliantly sunny,
but when things are a wee bit grey, you can always find splashes of colour.

This one below is actually from Last Run, day before yesterday, but we
really like the composition and contrast. Conditions at Last Run yesterday
were not a whole lot different either, and with the forecast of more snow
that did arrive last night, the bright side of Grey is the prospect of this
mornings fresh Snow.

Weather Notes:

Todays Bonus Benefit is going to be the comparatively Mild Temps
on the Mountain with a South Base Level high at -8C by 1:00P.M.

The forecast is calling for overcast all day with periods of Flurries, but at this
precise moment, it’s rather bright out and the Sun is definitely trying to poke
out and/or burn the cloud off.

The wind is from the North and at moderate speeds so up at the Summit it
should be crossing from La Crete towards Soleil and it may be gusty up there
from time to time.

Conditions Notes:

Please Note: Review trail status icons/legend in graphic below
for individual trail detail.

--------------- Conditions Caveats ----------------

1) There are some Wind Eroded Bare Spots where the base has been
exposed on Steeper Pitches that can be Icy or Slick. In relation to the
Total Square Trail Surface Area, they are minuscule, but.. if you hit one
while you are winging your way down, excessive speed could cause a
loss of control.

2) On the Un-Groomed Expert Terrain you may find Natural Hazards
that can become exposed with traffic. We urge initial explorations be
undertaken with reduced speed until you have verified safe passage.

Summary: Though They Are Small... The Kinds of Glitches we see are
usually in similar patterns, so if you can learn to recognize those patterns
on any given day, you can Increase Safety and Reduce any Close Encounters
by avoidance and/or anticipation.

-------------------- End of Caveats ----------------------

Weekend Planners: Check Out The Weather Network for Environment Canada
Cold Weather Warnings and dress appropriately.

The Skiing and Boarding will be Top Level, Very, Very Fine,
and Super High Performance... but you will need to be prepared.

More later, but if the simple concept of
“Average Is Excellent” means anything
to you, you know what you have to do...

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
