Tremblant Mountain Info. Crews Are A Major Asset To All Tremblant Guests.

Up-To-The-Minute Radio Linked Team Members have been an invaluable help to
those new to the area as wells all the regulars when there may be “Dynamic”
changes to Daily Op’s created by Mother Natures spontaneous and sometimes
unexpected recent weather factors.

We regularly promote consultation with them because of the very useful assistance
we benefit from ourselves in the clarification of detail that we report on and we
frequently see first hand those similar beneficial exchanges with Mountain Guests
that happen all day, every day.

Above:
Standing at the Summit Level entrance to McCulloch under the Gondola as it passes
overhead, you can see the approaching active weather coming in over Lac Tremblant
that’s forecast to have several Cm’s of Fresh Snowfall tonight.

As fine as Conditions Generally are, we have to report the formation of some
Icy Bits that as far as we can see, are the effects of High Volume Holiday Traffic(**)
and Wind erosion. They are of larger dimension than anything we saw yesterday,
but still Small in comparison to the Mountains overall 95% Fine Conditions.

However, there is an overnight forecast for New Fresh Snow, so the
combination of that, plus overnight Grooming, may well be the Magic remedy.

What we need you to know and keep in perspective is the low ratio of Glitch
Incidence, not to mention that when they do occur, it’s usually in similar
patterns around crests to steeper pitches and/or in constricted Traffic areas
of concentrated volume.

The snow, in the 95% that’s not worn, no Wind or Traffic damage,
is still a very fine, cold formed dry Crystal. It Skis like Satin.

When you hit accumulations, it does not stick together and as you can see here,
it leaves a big dusty plume in the air.

Tomorrow’s Outlook:

The new snow will start out as a Positive Game Changer for
the day, but with the (**)U.S. Presidents Week and Ontario University Reading
Week Holiday Guest Numbers out, traffic may still cause some Slick
or icy bit during the day. Use caution as you explore.

The degree of uniform quality over the entire range of Tremblant’s Terrain
is not only remarkably fine, but is being sustained by Mother Nature for a
far longer period than any typical winter pattern we’ve seen in our 40 some
odd season experience since 1974.

Think about that, and as you do, reflect on the number of days that you
can recall any proximity to “Perfect” Ski/Board days in your experience and
directly apply those thoughts to what you can have today, or any day in the
near term future at Tremblant.

After you’ve thought about that for a moment or two... start thinking about
how you can get yourself to Tremblant as soon as you can, and as often as you can,
because there is no good reason for any serious Skier or Boarder to miss
the opportunity to participate in the all day excellence of Tremblant’s current
state of Seasonal Maturity.

It simply does not get much better than this and you should be here if you can.

Below:

This Boarder came into the frame from the extreme left and did an abrupt 180 Swivel
just as we caught the Shred Action. The surface is that good almost everywhere.

You could Cruise all day if you want, but...

The Fun, Exercise and Good Health comes from the Astounding Carving traction
that will demand all the muscle you’ve got, for however long you can.

The quality of the “Bite” you can get with aggressive edge set being
demonstrated above, can be had right now on virtually all the Groomed Terrain.

If it’s going to be a while before you arrive, fear not, this season will progress
and ultimately conclude at quality levels that will represent Historical Benchmarks
of statistical reference.

If Mother Nature did nothing other than remain within recorded seasonal averages
from this moment forward, it would still be a historic peak of Pure Winter Conditions
because at over 50, we are now over any previous number of consecutive days of 24/7
Sub-Zero days on the Mountain we know of.

In the case of this season though, there is already ample evidence in the way of
a consensus of Weather Models From Any Source You Can Name
... that this
season is going to continue on at projected temp. values Below Average.

The Unique Circumstances of this Season means more “Winter” and
longer “Winter” and better “Winter” than possibly anyone alive and
Skiing Tremblant has ever seen!

Wow... think about that!

As a regional Historical Reference, if it continues on like this, it will be the
Coldest Winter Ever Recorded for Toronto Ontario, ... EVER.

As we have written many times before... “Cold” trumps all other factors when it comes
to “Winter”, and consequently Alpine Snow Sport Surfaces. While there are many who
consider the “Cold” inconvenient, or harsh, or any dimension of “Not Nice”....
we celebrate the unique and simultaneous benefits of Very High Performance and
Forgiveness that these superb Snow Surfaces at Tremblant have for every single
moment they exist.

To put it bluntly, there’s not a damn thing we can do about the Weather, so why
not Positively Embrace it for the Unique Excellence of the Skiing and Boarding
possible and enjoy every second you can!?!?

Weather Notes:

-9C under partially Sunny Sky! BONUS... Light Breezes!
Gorgeous Beautiful Easy Winter Day!

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
