T360 Prime Time Late Eve. Apres Ski, Tomorrow Draft,
Under Construction @ 11:10 P.M.

(Please Note: Overcast, Flat Grey Ambient Light Conditions.Pic.File.Mods.Accordingly.)

There’s no Sugar Coating that could make this Tremblant News Any Sweeter...

If you were a Lawyer, you could Effectively Argue, you could make a fully
substantiated Case To Support That....

Today’s Levels Of Surface Quality on Tremblant’s Winter Alpine Snow Sport Groomed
Trail Network,
(as comprised of Cold Formed Dry Crystalline Powder Snow, and the
approximate 55 Days of uninterrupted Sub-Zero Temp’s, Plus the daily refinements
of Mountain Operations Artful Grooming), are...

The Very Best Conditions Of The Season So Far, Based On Pure Technical Merit.

The Technical Merit of the Almost Flawless, Seamless, Wall-to-Wall, Immaculately
Precise Grooming that has Virtually Universal Coverage over the 4 Corners of the
Open Terrain.

The Technical Merit of the Cold Formed Snow that possesses the Very Highest Levels
of Compressed, Pure Snow Density, with consistent Edge-Set compliance over the 4
corners of the Open Terrain.

Shred Like This Everywhere At Tremblant...

Up... Down, Side To Side, to Other Side, Summit to Base, East To West, West To East,
South to North, North to South... It’s All The Same Excellence!

In the last Decade, we may have had one or two other days that approach
today...

If you can be here tomorrow, Sell The Farm, Call in your Substitute at Work,
Hop on the Plane, Jane, Grab A Tremblant Bus, Gus, but whatever you do...
Make Tremblant Plans Stan... Cause we think it’s a 99% Chance of a repeat
for Tomorrow, Wed. Feb., 25th, 2015

We dare anyone With Records of any quantitative or qualitative reference
to come up with any form of documented support for a longer sequence of
consecutive, Pure Winter, 24/7, Sub-Zero Days with better, or even close to,
the same conditions than today.

That Record Sequence, plus the Heroic, Skillful Endeavours of Tremblant Mountain
Operations Group has combined to generate quite as near to perfect as Can
Currently be Rendered, or even Imagined To Be Rendered against any Previous
Standards, as well as possible Future Standards.

It’s Important to remember that “Cold” Trumps Any Other “Winter” Factors,
and we’ve certainly had “Cold” by the Record-Setting Stat’s.

We may never see this quite like this again in our life-times because of Climate
Change that puts “Cold” at a disadvantage, and this one just slipped through...???

Statistically, this could be a once-in-a-lifetime Weather Pattern Anomaly that
does not occur again???

Who Knows?, Maybe it’s a New Weather Pattern cause by Climate Change and
we’ll see it again and/or frequently, but the odds are not currently understood
to be in favour of that.

If you want your own slice of this Historical Tremblant Ski/Board Experience, you
will need to get yourself here, A.S.A.P.

The Weather Models show Support for these Conditions Continued Existence
for at least two more weeks. Beyond that, the records should be smashed
up for Spring Skiing Quality too. Any future Tremblant Visits should be so,
so very fine. There’s just way too much Stored Cold in the Mountain, and way
too much Super Chilled, Super Crystal, Snow around to think it could be
anything else.

Tomorrow Weather Notes:

Starts @ -16 C, Rises by Noon Hour to -10 C, under overcast Sky in Morning
with possible partial Clearing in Aft. Moderate Westerly Winds coming
up the Mountain from Beauvallon, same as today, but quite a bit warmer.

It’s “Hip" To Be “Cool"...

...and along with most of the entire Eastern Region of North America....

It Certainly Is “Cool" To Be At Tremblant!

...in more ways than one.

The whole scenario at Tremblant right now is a classic example of the saying:
“You just have to be here” ...to appreciate the extraordinary Quality that the
arguably, longest sustained record of sequential and uninterrupted days of
Sub-Zero temp’s on the Mountain, PLUS, the exceptional Snow Quality truly
means to Ski and Board Conditions.

If you’ve been here recently, or you are here now, you’ll get the point.

If you’re not here, or haven’t been here recently, you may understand the
concept, but you will not have the benefit of the experience to fully comprehend
this message.

If you are a True Fan of Winter, if you are a True Fan of Ideal Ski/Board
Groomed Carving Alpine Snow Sports, if you are a True Fan of Tremblant’s
Majestic and Technically Superior For All Skill Levels Terrain...

You quite simply, need to be here.

Find A Way.

In terms of Difficulty, the Skiing and Boarding are Excellent and Easy within all the rated
Green, Blue and Black Skill Level categories. If you are finding it too difficult, simply put,
it’s because you are not on the right Skill Level Rated Terrain.

There are some Glitches like the odd Icy Bit or Wind Exposed Base, but seriously,
if your Trail Selection is actually matched to your Skill level, there is nothing you
will find that is not easily manageable, with one exception. There are some exposed
rocks in the narrow confines of some un-groomed Expert Only trails where
the trails crest over ridges that the wind and traffic combine to make bare.
Even then, most real Experts will have both the knowledge and Skills to be able
to use very reduced speed and very short turning technique to carefully navigate
past these zones that almost always have a very soft, snowy outside edge that
can be used to get by them.

Otherwise...

The most difficult thing from a practical standpoint is not even the cold, which
is well known by anyone who grew up in a Northern Climate(Very North Cold
is actually “Dry” and not hard to take on it’s own), ...the truly challenging factor
is the Wind.

Skiers and Boarders get “Wind” from two sources... Ambient Active Weather/Air
Movement and Forward Descending Speed.
(there is actually a third source of “Wind”,
but that involves too much simultaneous Chile, Poutine and Beer at lunch and is
not really applicable to this point.)

Either way, it’s “Air Speed”, as Aircraft Pilots define it, the speed of the air moving
relative to your position and/or movement, that really needs to be anticipated
and prepared for with layers, seals and overlaps. Once you’ve mastered the
tightness of the garment “System” you are using, the skiing is so delightful
that you find yourself swept away by the sheer joy of Tremblant’s universally
fine Winter Alpine Snow Sport Trail Network.

Weather Notes:

The Temp today is forecasted to rise to -12C after lunch which will be a 20 degree C
rise since the overnight low, so quite a positive shift upwards in the comfort factor.
Overcast Sky, the sun has been trying to poke out now and then, so there is some
occasional brightness, but there are also Snow Flurries too, so it’s a mixed bag to
say the least.

The longer range, over the next two weeks shows a steady but relatively mild
Sub-Zero trend with rises to as high as -4C off and on.

There are no more Super-Cold Low Spikes in the Long Range Forecast, but...
as we all know, Mother Nature may well disagree with the forecasters at some point.

Conditions Notes:

Three Important Summary Points:

A) The Skiing and Boarding at Tremblant are really Cool,

B) The temp’s have been really cool too,

but...

C) “B” is the main reason for “A”.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
