3/18/15 #Tremblant Conditions

Post by T360 »

T360 Apres Ski Edit Under Construction @ 9:30 P.M.

By the outward looks of it, a very pleasant day, and it was mostly...
Occasionally though, the wind howled, and boy oh boy... it had Bite!

No doubt, the North was in the Lee, sheltered to a large degree. As soon
as you crested the Summit, you knew there was substantial force. Not all
that cold, just blustery...

Tomorrow’s forecasted to be a lot warmer at -3 C with SUN!

Conditions will be Dynamite!

96(*) Open Trails on the Frosty 4 Sides of #Tremblant.

-20 C overnight on the 18th of March certainly counts as “Frosty” in our books,
but there are advantages that we will directly benefit from in Groomed
Trail Surfaces, so as Optimists, we look forward to the Performance
Experience of Today with Great Anticipation. The temps are expected to
rise to -9C by mid-day, and with the Sun’s energy added in, it should be
a very fine day.

This was yesterday, and today looks almost identical so far...

“Less Is More” ...

A year ago today we had a total Snowfall accumulation of 404 Cm’s,
so far this year, we have 346 Cm’s to this date, however....

A year ago today we had 86 Open Trails, today we have 96.

The factor making all the difference is the dominant Winter Trump Card of
the Cold that has gripped the entire Eastern Half of North America this season.
We’ve been writing about the value of the Cold as it directly applies to
both the Quality and the Quantity of Open Trails for months and the
continued existence of the 100% Open Trail Count at Tremblant is the
living proof that “Cold” indeed Trumps all other “Winter” factors when
it comes to sustaining the Alpine Snow Sports Trail Network. So, despite
any minor drawbacks of some additional Garment Layers, we’re overjoyed
to ride to the Summit and have the complete freedom to go anywhere
without any hesitation at all.

For the 18th of March, this is a rare privilege and should not be overlooked
when it comes to making any decision to attend at Tremblant.

Any extra efforts associated with the need to “Bundle Up” are quickly
forgotten in about 20 Metres of Descent when you are Totally Blown Away
by the Phenomenal Performance Capabilities you can personally realize on
virtually every Groomed run at Tremblant right now.

This Tremendous Gift is available right this second, and across all Skill Level
Rated Terrain. From Beginners content to do laps on P’tit Bonheur or Nansen,
to Experts who like to run La Griffe or Taschereau, there is something for
everyone, regardless of Style or Taste.

On the Expert Only Un-groomed terrain there are more wild-cards in terms of
the possibilities of traffic and weather generated natural hazards, but Genuine
Experts understand the nature of Un-Groomed and they are wise enough to
approach those sectors with eyes wide open and the appropriate caution in
initial phases of exploration.

“Glitches”? ...of course, “Perfect” exists in Concept only, so being realistic
means understanding that there can and will be naturally occurring hazards
possible even at the best of times, but that being said, Tremblant’s current
Quality is overwhelmingly Fine and the Athletic Performance you can enjoy today
will turn the Quad Muscles of even the best conditioned Skiers/Boarders
into Jello after a full day of Carving out the Rep’s at these astounding levels of
Lateral Grip and Turning Force.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
