Apres Ski Edit, and Text Draft of Sunday Morning Report Content

All Skill Levels are going to realize critical benefits from Overnight Grooming.

When things get this solid, there’s a limitation to the positive effects that traffic can
generate and the necessity of Grooming becomes the equalizer. Today was proof enough
of that...

The Laws of Physics applied to Water Based Snow Surfaces that a day and a half
ago were warmed up to +8 C and last night got down to -17C.... Today was proof
enough of that...

At least there’s still a mostly wall-to-wall coverage to work with and that is
a rare thing to have on the 4th of April most years, so we’re already ahead
of the game on that score alone.

Wall-to-wall... Comparatively speaking... a HUGE benefit for both Mountain Guests...
and Mountain Crews!

When it comes to the Smoothness Factor... Nansen and P’tit Bonheur, as might be
expected, lead the list, however, the top layers were not getting enough thermal
energy to soften them, so as smooth as they were, the slickness made speed
inappropriate because there was just not enough grip to harness any significant
lateral turning force.

As a matter of fact.... by the end of the day... there was a horizontal line, roughly
about the vertical of the Flying Mile Peak, below the line things became quite soft,
above the line, they remained “Firm”, “Solid”, but....

as we’ve written many, many times before in numerous seasons...

“Icy" is way, way better than “Gone”!

Mountain Crews can restore “Icy” and the Night-Shift holds the key to that now.
Any long term readers here will know how much we elaborate on the incremental
improvements that sequential Grooming Cycles make and we are hopeful that
tonights Grooming Cycle will create depth in the top layer that is typical of that
process.

Noon Update:

As could be considered “Predictable”... Morning Conditions are challenging due to Icy
formations, primarily in the way of small moguls, like this example shown below on
Taschereau.

We can understand why they may be leaving some bumps as steeper pitches will
be easier to control speed on if there are contours to brake or turn off of.

On the North, La Griffe, sheltered from the wind and soaking up a bit of Solar energy,
is just softening on the mid to lower portions. By later on it should be a “Sweet Spot”
for the entire descent.

67(*) Open Trails on South, North and Soleil Sectors at #Tremblant(**)
(**)Please Note: at time of this posting, there are 12 “Progressive” or
Gradual Trail Openings on the Official Data. These Trails need to be
certified by the Ski Patrol to Open. If the whole group are opened,
that would raise the Total Open to 79(*), compared to yesterday’s 80(*).

Please Note: Open Hours Today Extended to 5:00P.M.

The Snow is back in the Trees!

Depending on the amount of Solar Energy, that may only last for hours,
but its’s great way to start off!

Official Stat’s say 8 CM of New Overnight Snow...

And Another Winter Encore!

The Mountain should remain All Winter, All Day. The forecasted daytime high
for the Resort South Side base is right a Zero C, so with Cooler Temp’s at
Elevation, there’s some probability that the whole Mountain will stay Sub-Zero
for the entire day, overnight and for the entire day tomorrow as well.

Between the Grooming done last night and the repeat Grooming tonight, that
combination of stable below freezing and additional grooming cycles should
generate some very fine surfaces for both today and tomorrow. Tomorrow’s
refinements may give it a slight edge over today, but regardless, for the 4th of
April it’s all Excellent to begin with!

It’s Gunna Be “Breezy”!!!

You will definitely be able to study Aerodynamics on a personal level today.

... and what you’ll learn is that even at these mild temp’s, with steady airspeeds
at over 30 KMPH(see windspeed detail in weather data graphic below), and gusts
that may exceed these numbers by a substantial amount, it can still feel very cool
with Windchill. The feel at the Summit could seem more like -18C +/- a bit, so the
other thing you’ll learn really quickly, is that you may need layers and you will
definitely want to pay extra close attention to Zippers Up, Vents Closed, and all
Overlaps tucked inside properly to prevent wind migration inside your exterior
garment envelop.

At this Stage we do not anticipate Wind/Lift Related “Issues”, but anytime the
pure Airspeed gets up to these numbers, the possibility exists.

With So Many Variables ... i.e., temp’s at or close to Zero, high wind velocity,
Progressive Openings.... we recommend you consult with Tremblant’s
Mountain Info. Crews for the very latest in Guest/User Conditions Updates
which can occur frequently during the day.

More “Winter”, for sure, but with Sun, Easy Temp’s(^^)
and Great Coverage!

We’ll take the additional Snow anytime!

(^^) As reviewed above, appropriate care required for Garment Closures
due to Weather Forecast Wind component.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
