T360 Prime Time Apres Ski @ 9:45 P.M.
Please Note: Open Lift Hours Extended to 5:00 P.M. for Saturday and Sunday.
This Bonus time did not show on the Official Trail/Lift data below, however it
did happen and it is very much appreciated!
Here are the Best Signs of Great Spring Skiing and Boarding...
Snow White Summit Trees! All Winter into Spring, April 11th, 2015
scroll ----->>> for complete images
Once you get up there... Either South or North Sides Have Their Own Excellent
Surfaces, and much of it on the North, Very Real “Winter Snow”!
Virtually every desirable characteristic of Spring Skiing was available in
the abundance of Excellent Groomed Terrain for all Skill Levels today.
And, It Lasted... All Day Long!
Even with the extended Open Lift Hours to 5:00P.M., there was still Dry,
Sub-Zero Winter Snow on the North Side Summit Sectors and we found
an un-Skied Fresh Snow powder line on the right side of Marie-Claude Asselin
Bas, Lower after 4:00 P.M.!
What Month Is This? What Date Is This?
January, February, March???
1st., 2nd., 3rd., ???
April 11th ???? WWWWWwwwhhhhaaat????
Even after the Sun had time to “Work” on things, South Side Trails like our
McCulloch Sample here, still had excellent Top Layer Shredding Surfaces.
It is our opinion that it is the Record Frost below many of these sectors that is
keeping the wear and traffic factors from being as erosive as they might normally
be for April 11th.
And Then There was This...
Starts Up Here...
“Ends”... down here...
More in the morning, but if you’re a Regional Tremblant Fan and you miss this ???
You Are Really and Truly Crazy!
Rain Last Night? What Rain Last Night? No Sign Of It Here!
Weather Forecast Data For Tomorrow Posted Below:
------------------- 6:43 A.M. Orig. Post -------------------
44(*) Open Trails on the Wintery, White, Snowed on South and North Sides of #Tremblant.
Please Note: There are 22 Progressive Openings expected, subject to
Ski Patrol certifications. That would take the total available to 66(*)
when they all clear. Consult with Mountain Info. Crews For Updates.
Whatever effects of yesterdays rain were...
they may have been offset by New, Overnight Snow.
We do yet know exactly how Mother Nature has distributed it, but the
value it represents in terms of Surface Quality should be significant, even
if is in modest quantity. ANY new snow over yesterdays surfaces is going
to be a positive contribution to performance and control.
It is still forecast to clear off and become Sunny today.
Across The Decades.
From the Old, to the New... This is Tremblant’s 76th Season’s Official Close, Bonus
Weekend notwithstanding, so we think this pic from the top of Flying Mile with
the Summit Grand Manitou visible in the background(taken this past Wednesday),
is very symbolic of the passage of the Seasons that act as a Bridge of Time between
the styles of architecture from 1939 to the present.
The common element between the very first Season and This Season is
the dedication of the Tremblant Mountain Crews to provide the very best
possible Winter Alpine Ski Conditions. This Seasons Outstanding Results
are arguably the very finest of any of those Seasons as a consequence
of the Weather Pattern Anomaly that gave the North-East Coast of North
America perhaps it’s longest, coldest, sustained Winter Weather in over 100
years of the “Modern Era" of Recording Weather Statistics. All this against the
very contradictory, much larger, Global Warming, Climate Change Momentum
as we understand it in 2015.
From December 28th, there were some 71 days of sequential, uninterrupted,
Sub-Zero C days on the Mountain, and when set against the previous stat that
we can find at 49 days, both the comparison and the resulting excellence of
Conditions seem far more understandable.(**)
It has truly been and Exceptionally Excellent Ski Season.
A Season that we began to define by saying “Average Is Excellent”, because
that’s exactly what it was. Day after Day of 96/96 Open Trails and Groomed
Surface Quality of Impeccable Standards of Smoothness and Wall-To-Wall,
98% Glitch-Free, quite close to Perfect Coverage. If there ever was one, this was
a Season where the Average Morning brought you Excellent Conditions every
single day. From last December to practically speaking this week... no thaws,
no rain, just Cool and Snow.
You get the benefit of that today and tomorrow, as hard as it may seem to imagine
it’s all coming to a close.
Today’s Performance Forecast Sample Shot... from this past Wed. on McCulloch.
We think Mountain Crews will have Groomed out as much as they can overnight
and because there is still such a huge amount of Frost Refrigeration supporting
the base from below, we’re hoping the net result will be the continuation of
the fine Groomed Trails we’ve had every single day.
There may even be some “Winter” in early surfaces today, but when the sun does
come out, it holds every promise of more exceptional “Spring” for the balance
of the day.
Weather Notes:
We did this graphic for Apres Ski at Midnight last eve., but it still applies.
The difference is the small, but important amount of new snow that came
between 2:00 and 8:00 A.M., however/if it’s gotten distributed on the Mountain.
As you can see, there was no precipitation in the forecast at all, so Snow is
a bonus on the ground and in the air here this morning.
Also... Sunny??? with the amount of overcast and flurries flying... it seems
somewhat unlikely, but even this mornings Weather Network forecast is still
predicting clearing, sunny conditions consistent with the model below.
We’ll let you know on all that...
