T360 Late Night Apres Ski @ 11:35 P.M.

Double the utility at #Tremblant with South And North Ski Out To Base.

We were forecasting a Summit High Temp at -1 C
and that’s exactly as warm as it got.

One of the largest visible guest groups right now are the visiting race teams
from Toronto and Collingwood Ontario. Active training all day for these kids
who all appear to be having a ton of fun! This gang shown below on Beauvallon
Haut, Upper.

In the Mean-Time, over on Versant Nord, the North Side, there was unquestionably
a finer, drier, more winter-like surface quality on the Summit Sectors and the grip
levels were even and reliable all the way down to Lowell Thomas Base.

Riding up the Duncan Quad to the Summit Approach...

Certainly felt very much like “winter” with the facing wind, however,
regardless of Sud, South, Nord, North, if you were Skiing/Boarding at
any “Athletic” levels of performance or high energy, you became warm
quickly and Opening Jacket Vents were an immediate relief.

The Dramatic Scenery created by Sunshine through the broken cloud cover
created spectacular Ray Displays of an ever-changing array that could be
seen racing across both the Sky and Ground at a rapid pace.

Considering how “Green” things are in “Yourtown”, it’s good to see “Winter”
surviving at Tremblant so far. The 14 day weather forecast shows some warm
days coming up with highs around +5C. The overnight lows at base level in the
same time period are projected to be just around the freezing mark by a degree
or so, which means that with the Cooler Elevation differential(if the forecast holds
true), we’re projecting the Mountain should have stabilizing overnight Sub-zero’s to
keep snow surfaces intact.

The Skiing and Boarding will continue to have “Spring” characteristics for the next
couple of weeks though if the long range forecast remains close.

At The End Of The Day...

12.6.15 Last Run on Versant Nord is one of the sweetest experiences any
passionate Tremblant Skier can have. Quiet, even serene, the silence
and the magnificent scenery are unforgettable.

We regularly promote talking to Mountain Info. Crews as the most current
source of up-to-the-minute Tremblant Trail and general Mountain Reference,
but at this stage of the season, that can be even more important with changes
that can occur due to weather or Mountain maintenance.

A Short Editorial on Perspectives Influencing Your Appreciation
of Current Tremblant Conditions:

In the range of Season’s Opening Week(s), it’s obvious that the amount of
Open Terrain is directly linked to Weather conditions, but thankfully, the
reliance on Natural Snowfall as the principle contribution to the base, has
been completely replaced over the years by one dominating physical
requirement. That one factor is any amount/fraction of Sub-Zero that allows
Snowmaking to occur.

There are some out there in “Consumer-World” that are complaining about
marginal Ski/Board conditions in the “East”, but we want to very positively
re-affirm our opinion that Tremblant Fans/Guests are just about the luckiest
group of East Coast Skiers/Boarders so far this season due to the very fine
balance in sub-zero temps that have allowed Mountain Crews to make and
maintain as much snow as they have.

Everything Is Experience Relative...

Considering the Weather...

If you have been Skiing/Boarding for over 10 years, you’re going to think
conditions are Excellent, because in the last 10 years or more, you’ve seen
years with a lot less outright acreage and a whole lot less snow than what
we have now.

If you’ve been Skiing/Boarding for 5 years(+/-), you’ll think these conditions
are average because you’ve seen one or two seasons with more and one or two
seasons with similar or less.

If you’re New to Alpine Snow Sports Skiing/Boarding, you’ll take Snowmaking
at todays current standards for granted because you don’t have any other
experience to judge by.

All we can say is that for those of us who’ve been Skiing for years, even decades,
we can definitely recall seasons when there was no natural snow, not much
blown snow, and you had to keep a pair of “Rock Skis” for what was initially
Open because the coverage over the natural hazards was thin and we might
have had one or two short, narrow trails for weeks. For those with those kinds
of “Years” of experience, the amazing part is that those days of truly marginal
startup conditions seem to have disappeared.

When Trails Open at Tremblant in November, early December now, they open
with quality that we sometimes didn’t see until mid to end of January and that
is why we are so completely positive about the Tremblant Experience today.

Sure, you need good edges to handle potential icy bits, for sure, the early
season Terrain is limited compared to mid-winter, but equally sure today is
that what you Ski or Board on, is of the best quality possible, and “Lightyears”
ahead of what we had 10 years ago in fundamental surface refinement.

“Right Now” Tremblant.

Versant Nord, the North Side, P’tit Bonheur 14 hours ago, and it was
below zero all night, so with grooming, this will be exceptionally fine today. Period.

Regardless how green the spaces look where ever you are, you can find
Sweet Spots of Very Fine Winter at Tremblant today. For serious Ski/Board
fans, this is all we need to see and know.

Weather Notes:

It got down to -2C at South Base levels, and today may see a blip up
to +3C, under an overcast sky, so the Summit should hold a degree or
two of sub-zero with any luck and the North will probably be favoured
with the most consistent temps.

The wind is forecast to be low to moderate from the Nor-West, so rising
up the Mountain over Beauvallon, headed across the Summit towards
Lowell Thomas. A very Easy, Early Season day.

Conditions Notes:

A mix of everything, but with light traffic, all-day
smoothness with minimal moguls. Overnight Grooming
should have generated some very Shred-able top layers,
so for those with high performance gear, there should be
excellent carving on ALL the Open Terrain. More on that
in Apres Ski.

It’s a quiet, Spring-like day with complete North/South Vertical
Ski/Board access. It’s going to be an Excellent, Uncrowded,
“Private Club” day if you can make it out.
