Big Open News ... NANSEN, Nansen Haut... OPEN!!!

When they’re still "Mowing the Lawns" at other Eastern Ski Areas... Tremblant Opens MORE!

We had the brains to get this shot a couple of days ago as Mountain Crews prepared to
get Nansen ready and we reported the Snowmaking together with the icons active on
the Official Snow Report, so it’s wonderful to see this Iconic Tremblant Original Trail
come to life for this season.

It’s a great day in the life of the Mountain when Nansen Opens!

Weather Notes:

One day of overcast heat at +8 C, South Base Level, so roughly + 4C at the Summit.
It’s a warm, late Fall day... not a damn thing we can do about it other than enjoy
Spring Skiing for a day!

Based on early morning weather observations, we don’t think today will
be as damp as some are forecasting either.

A Bit More Review Re: Yesterday’s Weather...

It Was Not As Bad As Many Expected.

People looking up the various Weather Forecasts trying to decide “Go” “NoGo”
immediately get hesitant when the Raindrop Icons show up across the board
from all sources, like they did yesterday, but... it did not materialize that way at all.

Foggy, yes. Soggy, yes, occasional Rain, maybe?, more like occasional drizzle,
and for much of the day, just plain overcast at low levels and cloud-fog at Summit
levels, so a lot of the day was just easy Spring Skiing, albeit under a quite “Grey” ambience.

What’s the point of this review?

At least two things...

1) for those in attendance, a Spring Ski day that actually had great Shred characteristics
in soft surfaces.

2) if you’re looking at this in the future as part of any homework for an Early
Season Visit, fear not, and go anyway, for after 40 some-odd seasons, we can’t
ever remember being totally rained-out. Tremblant’s huge multi-kilometre footprint
and different sides almost always mean there are sweet spots of great relative
conditions and we said it for decades to all our friends and family, we’ve had some
of our sweetest Ski Days in exactly these conditions. It’s warm, it’s fast, it’s fun,
and with a good Descente Poncho or similar, very comfortable. As an added bonus,
you have the place virtually all to yourself.

----------- Mid-Day Weather Observation Update: -----------------

Rain? What Rain? ... oh, there may have been a wee bit here and there, but
a lot of the day has been exactly like this:

Page under delayed gradual assembly due to Out Of Office Support Logistics.
Sorry about that, but the rain everyone is freaked-out over at base levels
has not been on the Mountain as much, so warm, damp, maybe, non-the-less,
fine “Spring-like” Skiing Boarding!

want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
