15(*) Open Trails on the Re-Chilled South and North Sides of #Tremblant.
Our Theme of the Moment... “Half-Way Back To Winter"
The Reassuring View of the Summit Webcam.
Nothing happens at any Ski Resort on the Planet Without Sub-Zero Degrees C(32F).
Once again.... Thank Goodness For “North”, as in Latitude, because while
much of the North-Eastern Region of this Continent has “+” C value, above freezing,
Tremblant is just far enough North to be quite nicely below zero and consequently,
in the Snowmaking Zone.
As a matter of fact... Tremblant made Snow all night long, and they are still
making Snow at the time of this posting.
Inevitably, there will be a mix of conditions today because what was exposed
to thaw over the recent past, is now frozen. Grooming and new Snowmaking
will have gotten rid of a lot of outright Icy Sectors, but there may be portions
of Trail length that have ice in them and there may also be a courser size
particle covering where icy concentrations have been broken up by Grooming
in the first overnight cycle of incremental re-surfacing.
With a Versant Sud, South Side Resort Base forecasted high temp today at +2C,
much of the Mountains cooler elevations, and just maybe the whole Versant Nord,
North side should remain below zero. A return to below zero later today and for
tonight for the whole local area should also allow a considerable rejuvenation of
Snowmaking surfaces.
A One Pic Conditions Forecast:
Loose Machine generated top layers over a Snowmaking base of the highest quality
possible for the Weather conditions. For the vast majority, good to fine Carving grip
however, possible icy bits and loose larger chunks may be evident in some sectors.
Weather Notes:
There is one potentially complicating factor for the next 24 Hours(**)...
(**) This storm system could make things very messy for a day or two,
however, at cooler Mountain elevations over Tremblant, this storm system
could also fall on the Mountain as Snow. We are not qualified to project
any percentage of probability, but it does exist. Atmospheric conditions
generated over the Mountain by forcing moisture laden air up into colder
air at least theoretically, could generate Snow. Will it happen? Stay tuned...

Despite complicated Weather factors, Tremblant’s northerly balance remains
just enough in favour of “Cool” to not only keep existing Trail Snow Surfaces
maintained, but, add expansion to them as well.
All things considered, it’s the best we can hope for now, and, when “Winter”
actually decides to arrive, the foundation for rapid Open Terrain Development
will be well in place.

want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.
GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu
When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.
There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.
(

First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
