Due to all the New Natural Snow North,
PLUS Snowmaking,
PLUS Grooming,

...we expect to see huge differences in the way of User Friendly conditions
today. Certainly, First Tracks on P’tit Bonheur should be “Nirvanic”, Smooth,
Excellent Grip over a solid base that’s one of the very best East Coast Trails
ever created. Period.

Race Training Carving Quality On P’tit Bonheur Yesterday.
(99.264% Probability it will be wayyyyy better today....)

We were zoomed in a bit for another shot when the Racer Kidz came by and
we tried to pan the shot but WOW... going that quick was difficult to catch.
Despite being incomplete, the image still very accurately conveys the quality
of performance you can experience as a Tremblant Skier/Boarder right now
so that’s why we’re including it anyway.

Who Needs “Star Wars” Characters?

Friday marked the release of the 2015 edition of the popular “Star Wars”
movie franchise, but with Characters like the one pictured above, who needs
fantasy when you can be a character at Tremblant yourself!

Weather Notes:

This Annotated Forecast Model has held up with minor differences
being at -1C degree cooler, which is better for Snowmaking production,
then a degree warmer after the Snowfall commences.

The new forecast low is -4C @ 11:00 A.M., rising to -2C after that.

want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)

T360 Apres Ski @ 10:28 P.M.

It was sunny for the first 3 Open Hours or so, but fairly quickly the clouds rolled in
and the wind, well the wind was what really brought you a good dose of that “Winter”
feel.

The wind was strong. Combined with Snowmaking and Natural Snow, vision was
not always good. That was a safety consideration at times because the grey, low
or sometimes no contrast light was enough to mask some ground contours.
A couple of times later in the afternoon we had a surprise “Launch” upwards by
a ramp-like transverse Trail contour that was not clearly visible through goggles.

As a logical consequence, speed needed to be immediately reduced when any reduction
in forward vision was encountered.

The questions have started already... How much do you think will be Opened
for Christmas and the Holidays?

We don’t know. It’s possible Mountain Crews may have some sort of planning
target. But... anyone who’s looked at a forecast in the past, only to have Mother
nature blow it away with “Warm”, has to acknowledge that there may be
unpredictable Weather Wild Card Variables that could skew the numbers
one way or the other with all these oh-so-close-to-zero, up/down temps
that seem to veer up a lot recently.

One thing though, the establishment of Summit-to-base trails on both sides
a couple of weeks ago has been a huge asset and we see continuity in that
for the seasons future no matter how quickly or slowly Terrain expands
from now on. We have a Solid, Established, Core that has proven to withstand
some extraordinary warm, wet, Late Fall and appears to have more than
enough stability to get us through to “Tomorrow”.(**)

We consider ourselves very lucky to have had the Quality and Durability
so far and today gave us a “Glimpse” of what’s eventually going to arrive
that will bring more of everything all Ski/Board Fans want... Cool, Cool, Snow!

The New Snow is being moved off-trail in places due to sheer Wind Velocity,
but even that’s fine at this stage. A nice white covering for all that Brown Forest
provides a beautiful Winter Season Whiter backdrop to the trails and a more all-round
winter appearance for the whole Mountain.

In other Lee-side wind sheltered zones, the snow has fallen and stayed on
trails that improved by the hour for traction and carving grip.

Nansen Update:

Nansen has been initially constructed for this opening as a blown snow track that
varies between 10 to 20 metres in width, and flows on the left side near the La Crete
terminus, and switches over to the right side as it peaks the pitch down towards
Mi Chemin.

The surface is smooth, but just not as wide as we’re used to. The additional Natural
Snow should help to fill in the brown backgrounds and any new, fresh Snow enhances
surface quality.

Four Park Modules are at the bottom of the Nansen pitch and there’s a
lot of Snowmaking there to support future development/expansion of
this terrain.

Tomorrow... Sunny!!! Cool @ -3C South Base, Sunny!!!
Groomed in Fresh Snow!, Did We Say Sunny !?!?!?!

Should be good!

(**) Please Note: the extraordinarily mild fall over the entire
Nor-East portion of the continent, means that Ski/Board conditions
have Natural Hazards that are not yet covered because there is
less snow than average for this time. Overall quality is still very good,
however observational care should be exercised as you circulate to
identify and avoid hazards where-ever possible. Explore with reduced
speed during initial descents.
