12/24/15 #Tremblant Conditions

17(*) Open Trails on the South, North Slopes at #Tremblant.

Words fall considerably short in being able to adequately describe this,
and very, very truly, you almost have to be here to believe how genuinely
excellent Skiing Tremblant is right now.

The phenomenal Lateral Grip on these surfaces is literally breathtaking in
the sense that the thrill of it all keeps you going on raw adrenaline until stopping
for air is necessary after exerting extended extraordinary levels of energy.

Awesome, awesome conditions of pure Spring-like Carving, one for the memory
books, for sure.

Swinging around 180 degrees looking up, you can see what the rest of the day
looked like yesterday on the super swift snow with the Cloud Fog, a day that
with any luck at all, and forecast without the fog, will be similar performance today.

To begin with, today has the same foggy appearance just looking out the
window at everything, except the thermometer. Additionally, the forecast has
been lowered by 3 degrees C to a daytime high of +13 C. It’s currently Overcast,
which we like a lot because it’s keeping the Sun off the precious White Snow
Trail Surfaces for a while anyway. It is forecast to be mostly sunny this aft.

We’re not exactly sure how this short blip in temps is going to affect
things, but there is frost underneath supporting the base, so we’re
optimistic that surfaces can withstand this for at least another day.
There will be naturally occurring hazards that require initial explorations
at reduced speed to navigate successfully.

Add some more fog in there and you really want to be careful, especially
with any speed where vision is limited.

There is superb Open Terrain for all Skill Levels and Beginners in particular
will find the so-far shallow softness super easy to learn on. It’s like having
ball bearings underfoot, so there’s little resistance.

We’re holding our breath until the temps drop back down below zero about 30
hours from now...

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
