Sorry for very late posting today, however very busy Family Holiday
commitments... ’tis the Season!
In the Meantime... Back on the Mountain...
Here’s What Your Friends At Tremblant Are Doing...

These above and below pic’s are crop’s from very long Telephoto’s, so there
are a lot of grainy elements that make them less than perfect, but they do
convey much of the surface quality fairly well, so we’re including them as
“Technical” condition depictions.
12.27.15.Nord.North.Beauchemin.Haut.Upper.d.jpg
While there was an overall enhancement to the top layers from Saturday nights
snowfall that ran well into yesterday morning, the wear patterns of Mountain users
concentrated onto the existing Open Terrain did result in exposed icy bits, moguls
and washboard lateral ridges in many areas.
The Weekend attendance numbers seemed to be typically large for the Christmas
Holiday period, but the longest line our group encountered on the North Side
Duncan Quad was about 6 minutes and at the South Resort Base Gondola, we
used the Singles Line and the wait was about 3 minutes, so really pretty easy
in that regard.
The congested part was definitely on some Trail locations where traffic was funnelled
into single descent paths for base access. On the North, Beauchemin Bas, lower, and
on the South, Beauvallon Bas, Lower, both saw significant changes over the day in
terms of Moguls, Icy bits and Washboard ripples we talked about above. Due to the
lower numbers in mid-week attendance, we think there may be less likelihood of
those surface irregularities today.
Today should also have the benefit of a full Night-Shift of Grooming refinement
and Snowmaking additions, so the whole Ski/Board experience should be a few
notches higher on the surface quality and consistency scales.
Excellent Snowmaking, New Open Terrain Development News!

The above pic., taken adjacent to the Lowell Thomas Triple Chair Base Loading Zone,
is one of the best examples of New Open Terrain Development. This sector, served
by the North Base Expo Detachable High Speed Quad Chair Lift, is a favourite of many.
So, not only will it be popular with lot’s of regulars, but it will contribute significantly
to the reduction in Trail Traffic Density when it is combined with the work also going
on simultaneously on Duncan(Bas, lower in particular), as there will be a second
descent path to the North Side base that will take huge traffic/wear pressure off
Beauchemin Bas, lower as the only current way to get to North Base.

On Versant Sud, South Side, Snowmaking on McCulloch!
This will be a huge hit with loyal Tremblant Fans as McCulloch represents
another benchmark of local's favourites and cosmetically speaking, it’s a very
big boost to the “White winter” appearance of the Mountain due to it’s
high visibility factor from the scenic outlooks the traveling public sees
as they travel across the roads in front of the Mountain.
More on all the potential Terrain News later on..
Weather Notes:
Mostly Sunny, with very light overcast and temps gradually going down
throughout the day to about -9C by Last Run. Moderate to light Nor-East
winds, so crossing the Summit from Beauchemin towards McCulloch.
A very nice early winter day with an emphasis on the Cooler temps that
we have not yet had for any length of time to this date.
A Major Winter Storm Warning In Effect For Tomorrow.
More on that later too...
