In Addition to the HUGE jump in Open Trails, from 49 up to 73, there’s a TON
of New Terrain Development going on.

Here are two samples from the main Snowmaking Zones.

1) Flying Mile, Versant Sud, South Side:

73(*) Open Trails on the First Day of the Season for All 4 Sides of #Tremblant!
Edge Sector OPEN! South, North Soleil Sectors OPEN!

This Is The Main Reason Tremblant Is So Fine Today...

They are not fancy measuring devices(Skis are 160cm, Poles@ 48"), but Experienced
Skiers/Boarders are going to Instantly recognized the relationship of our
“Proof Of Snow” to Tremblant’s Very Fine and Rapidly Expanding Alpine
Snow Sports Trail Network.

From yesterday Morning’s Official Start at 49(*) Open Trails, to this Morning’s
Official Start at 73(*), certainly qualifies as “Rapid Expansion”!

However, one of the most significant aspects of all this development is
the Quality of the Groomed Terrain, the vast majority of which has been
Opened at levels of surface condition that would be typical of almost
any Mid-Season day. To have such remarkable Grooming refinement the
day some of these trails Open is a fantastic privilege for those who
have decades of experience and can remember how things used to be
when it took weeks or months to achieve anything close to the First Tracks
we get on Day 1 now.

The shot below is a fine example of this initial quality on the Groomed Opening of
Versant Nord, the North Sides Expo Quad Sector Trail “Sissy Schuss”. This 1948
Tremblant Classic has been previously open in raw form, but when Opened
Groomed like this for the first time, truly reveals in the current historical
perspective, just how brilliant it’s simple design is when finished to this level.

In the Meantime... immediately adjacent to the “Proof Of Snow” shot at Top-of-page,
P’tit Bonheur(pic.below), is also typical of the level of refinement that’s close to 100%
universal across the range of pre-existing Groomed Terrain.

Tremblant Mountain Crews have been more than capable of doing this “Double Duty”
of both new terrain construction while maintaining all the previously Opened
Groomed trails to the highest quality levels possible. We are eternally thankful
to the team that gets this done every single day, often with challenges by the
hand of Mother Nature that can be very difficult, but they manage to overcome
with day-in and day-out consistency.

Snowmaking Ongoing, Summit-To-Base, Existing Terrain, New Terrain, All Sides.

Just about everywhere you look, there’s Snow in the air at Tremblant right now!

Even “Belvedere”, the steep little pitch off the top of the Flying Mile Peak
that leads off to the TGV Quad Base, is in very fine shape with good carving
grip on both outboard sides and a firm, but all snowy centre.
We saw confident Intermediates easily doing wedge-shape turning manoeuvres
on it with no problem, descending right down the middle.

If you are a Near-Term Tremblant Trip/Visit Planner... Relax...
Tremblant’s Base has achieved what we might call “Critical Mass”, in that it is
now at a state of depth and compaction that is very Weather Resistant and in
our opinion, has the capability to endure whatever Mother Nature decides to
do. Of course statistically, “Winter” means more “Snow” so if we get nothing
more than seasonal averages, Conditions will not only continue to be very fine,
but they will build from this point forward for the next 6 to 8 weeks at least.

Weather Notes:

Cool and Snowing... It’s Winter out there, so Bundle up!

Starts at -20 C, warming to -9 C forecast.
Overcast with MORE SNOWFALL!
Winds moderate to strong Easterly,
so blowing straight up P’tit Bonheur.
Could be heavy drifting on the some
South/Soleil Sectors.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
