82(*) Open Trails on 4 Open Sides/Sectors of #Tremblant.
Weather Notes:
Today.... Where we’ve been....
Conditions Notes:
Today.... where we’re headed.
Obviously, things are going to be messy for a day or two...
One way you may be able to distinguish the potential severity
of the situation is if the Gondola Cars are removed from the main elevating cable.
Freezing Rain has shown itself to be a most serious mechanical impediment
in the past when the thickness goes beyond a certain point.
Imagine a very long cable covered in thick ice trying to rotate
through precise machinery designed only for the width of the cable itself.
Additionally, water weighs 10 pounds per gallon... imagine the weight
stress of a very long cable and dozens of cars covered by a thick mantle of
ice.
Time will tell...
In any event, as January/February “Thaws” go... it’s very short.
An inconvenience for a couple of days to follow to be sure,
but not enough to materially effect base quality.

Based on the fact that the Gondola Cars have not been detached from the
main cable, we would support a conclusion that any significant freezing rain
has not, and is not expected to occur at Tremblant and that there would be
minimal effect on Open Terrain unless there was some other concurrent Trail
Maintenance strategy that had trails closed we are not aware of.

want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.
GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu
When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.
There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.
(
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
