T360 Apres Ski Early Evening Edit @ 8:20 P.M.
Besides the Great Skiing, and before we get into all that Conditions stuff....
We Really Love This Story:
All The Way From Norway !!!
“We Enjoy Canada, We Wanted To Ski Canada And We Chose Tremblant”

With Permissions to include the Picture.
Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end, so our New Friends from Norway
were actually gearing up for their Last Run on their Last Day before the long haul
back to Norway. Tomorrow they fly out, first to Germany, then on to Oslo. Wow.
For us, it’s a Thrill and a Privilege to meet people from all over the World who
come to Tremblant for the singular purpose of a Ski Holiday and after the whole
time here, like these Folks are by all their indications, very happy and content with
both their decision and their experience.
We often write about our personal opinions and assessments regarding what we
consider to be Tremblant’s Superior Alpine Skiing Technical Merit, so to meet
this delightful Norwegian Family by totally unplanned coincidence in the Gondola,
hearing all of their very positive feedback about their good experience here is
exactly the kind of supportive re-enforcement that helps us maintain enthusiasm
for the passion we feel about Tremblant ourselves.
...And what a Fabulous Week to have been here!!! Massive Snow Storms, Sunny Days,
Great Conditions, Total Terrain Availability... Literally Historic, at least in Snowfall
Stat’s... All Good, All Tremblant!
In on Nansen. The Last Turns of the Last Run.. until Next Time!
2.25.16.From.Norway.To.Tremblant.By.Selection.By.Choice.c.jpg
It is our Very Genuine and Sincere Wish that in the future they should reflect
so fondly on their time here as a Family that they arrive at the only sensible
conclusion... Return To Tremblant!
Moving on to Todays Conditions:
Things started out Spring Soft, just about everywhere that was open. There was a big
difference between the initial Open Trail Data and the actual Progressively Opened
Terrain too, so it seemed as though much of the terrain was under protective closure.
The Official Open Trail Data @ 89(*) was published at 5:47 A.M., however at 9:00 A.M.,
we’d guess around half was being Progressively Opened. By 10:00 A.M., Trails began to Open more quickly.
Conditions remained Spring-Like Softness until 1:30/2:00 when the Snow began to fall
vigorously and the Temp’s began to drop. At that point, a bit of Icy began to creep into
the mix, but not so much that you couldn’t carve... as long as you had good, sharp
edges.
When Conditions Are Highly Variable, When The Open Trail List Is Highly Variable...
Consult Tremblant’s Super-Knowledgeable, Super-Helpful Mountain Info. Crews!
Nansen Haut, Nansen Bas, Beauchemin, Sissy Schuss Haut, to Fuddle Duddle Bas,
were some examples of Trail Surfaces that seemed to remain very finely carve-able
even when the temp’s dropped. As usual... there are always Sweet Spots of
great Skiing, no matter what the Weather seems to be doing.
The New Snowfall was definitely helping as temps fell. Basically, it was adding
an effective cushion over the moisture laden morning surfaces as they solidified.
Adding Apres Ski as time permits, but we’re looking forward to tomorrow’s
Grooming refinements that we think are going to be quite good considering that
at 10:30 P.M., it’s been Snowing for about 9 hours now. Even though it’s a blustery
wind, the Snow shows no sign of letting up yet.

T360 Mid Morning Update:
As We Thought it would be...
2.25.16.Nord.North.Ptit.Bonheur.Foggy.Fine.Fast.Fun.a.jpg
An Excellent Combination Of Spring Skiing With Winters Best 100% Coverage!
-------------------- 6:59 A.M. Orig. Post ------------------
89(*) Open Trails On 3 Sides of #Tremblant as the Edge Sector is Temporarily Off-line.
Beautiful, Fast, Fun, Spring Skiing For One Day...
or at least part of one day, if it gets really “Cool” this afternoon...
Below: 2.24.16.Duncan.Quad.Views.Devils.River.Haut.Upper.Entrance.c.jpg
Yesterday this was all nice and soft with New Snowfall, today it may be
equally as soft, but from overnight dampness. If that is actually the case,
the “Shred” and “Fun” factors should be equally as good today.
Things could have been a lot worse than they were through the night.(**)
If the rain on the Mountain was the same as it was at the South Base
level, it was more of a drizzle and to our knowledge, never any sort of
teaming or sheet rain. Consequently, the most effect we think we’ll see
today is the wet composition of the top layers as they shed off the excess.
We think that due to the Super-Cool of the overnight lows in the past two weeks
that the well frosted substrates are going to act as a barrier that will for the
most part remain totally undisturbed by this event because it is forecasted to
be so short.
We also think that if there had been any significant rain damage, you’d see
a lot more off-line Trails for strategic preservation and restoration maintenance.
Weather Notes:
The current forecast shows a South, Resort Base return to Sub-Zero in roughly
nine hours, at around 3:00 P.M., the Summit may well go below by noon, or
shortly there-after, but that’s just a guess. There’s also a forecast return to Snowfall
by mid-afternoon too, so the whole composite picture is one that we see as
being very temporary, for today only.
Tomorrow you may need razor blade Ski/Board edges though, because the
overnight low forecast is for -15 C and the Laws Of Physics tell us that what
is damp and a wee bit mushy in those top layers now, is going to become quite solid.
To a large extent, the “User Friendly” in tomorrow will be directly proportional
to the rate and accumulation of Snowfall, if and when it starts from, PLUS...
the extent of tonights Grooming Schedule.
Speaking of the Grooming Schedule, a review of todays Archived Open Trail Data
shows that there was a minimal Grooming schedule on 18 Trails. Beginners who are
the most sensitive to surface quality, have the primary benefit as Nansen and
P’tit Bonheur are showing as Groomed, so with the added density created by
the moisture, those two Trails should be on par with I-95 Interstate Highway
specs for seamless wall-to-wall coverage.
We suspect that the list for tonight may be several times greater just for the sake
of establishing a smooth foundation for new snow to fall on, and/or a smooth surface
for the return of “Solid” that would be so much easier to navigate without frozen lumps,
bumps, tracks, ridges, and any other irregular surfaces generated by todays softness.
Conditions Notes:

Here’s what you need to know, equipment wise,
