T360 Apres Ski Early Eve. Intro. Edit @ 6:59 P.M.
This Will Give You A Good Impression Of Tremblant Today...
The Snow was softer than we expected with the lowered temps of the last overnight,
but it was certainly not unmanageable, indeed, there was a tremendous amount of
Very Fine Carving for Groomed Lovers, but by shortly after lunch, there was a
very noticeable softening.
As usual when things get soft, there were some Moguls, there were a couple of
thin coverage zones that were all quite easy to see and steer around too.
The wee bit softer took nothing away from an overall Excellent Day. There were
even some sectors that were quite fast.
Great Terrain Variety for All Rated Skill Levels!
Weekend Weather Detail:
Thanks for your Visit!!!

66(*) Open Trails on the Re-Froze and Brilliantly Sunlit Slopes of #Tremblant.
Mid-Morning Update:
Thank Goodness For “Cool”, Thank Goodness For “Sunny”!
Otherwise, after two days of Warm, Rainy... and an Overnight Sub-Zero...
You can imagine how the Laws of Physics apply. It may take a day or so
for Mountain Crews to get to all 4 distant corners, so we need to have
patience while they work on it.
The Biggest, Hugest, Most Important Factor... Grooming.
We are Fortunate... even Blessed, to have the tremendous coverage
that was still completely intact at Last Run yesterday and will still be
there there, even if in a “Solid” state, this morning. The Grooming that
Mountain Crews have done should have contributed to “Flat” at least,
and there should even be some Machine generated Soft Top Layers
for Carving on.
Regarding any residual “Icy Bits”...
“Icy” is way better than “Gone”, because “Icy” can be restored overnight
and in the Incremental, Refinements and Improvements of multi-overnights,
you get back to “Very Fine”.
“Gone” is “Gone” and we certainly don’t have that problem here the way they
do “South” of here.
Tremblant Still Has TONS of Snow!
3.10.16.Nord.North.Last.Run.Fuddle.Duddle.Bas.Lower.All.Snow.All.Go.c.jpg
Less than a week ago, these Multi-Blizzard, 2 Metre Dumped-on Trails
were still being exposed to Minus 30 Degree C Overnight Lows.
Not only did all that New Snow get Packed and Groomed into the Base,
but it was subjected to all those very Winter Cold Temp’s. This combination
of a thick, super solid Base, supported by a very deep and recent frost, has
in our theory, resulted in a resilient mantle that over the past two wet days,
has shed off much of the water, remaining largely intact in both depth and
coverage.
Realistically, there has been some erosion, but that is most evident in the
off-Trail bush that does not have the benefit of Packing. Even then, there is
just so much snow here that to those who arrive today, there is still an
impressive overall White Winter accumulation visible everywhere.
There can be zones of thin coverage that naturally occur due to primarily
wind facing exposure that are commonly found over contour crests. Traffic
wear patterns can also cause hazard exposures. As an example, the final
turn of Nansen Haut onto the Plateau, just above the entrance to Mi Chemin,
has about a 2 square Metre thin spot. But... considering the weather, we think
it’s quite remarkable that in a days Skiing, you might only find a handful of
glitches like this within such broad and complete coverage.

With only a Month left in the season...
And a Great Base to support “Spring” Skiing/Boarding, we’re encouraging
all Dedicated Tremblant Ski/Board Fans to get out now, and at every
opportunity you can over the next few weeks.
The recent and massive Blizzard generated Snowfall has given Tremblant
a huge “Margin” of Snow Reserves that is going to positively enhance the
quality and quantity of the Open “Spring” Terrain.
