23(*) Open Trails on Sud, South and Nord, North Sides Only, due to 14 C Temp. Drop
From +8 C, to - 6 C in 16 Hours at #Tremblant.
All White... All Winter... And Maybe Most Importantly For The Base... All There.
Tremblant Right Now. 16 Hours ago it was +8C, Now it’s -6 C. Consequently, the Laws Of Physic’s Apply,
everything Froze Solid, and this requires a Strategic, Systematic execution of steps
over time to recover.
All you need to remember is “Icy Is Way Better Than Gone”.
“Icy” can be Recovered, Restored, Re-Groomed, Repaired, etc., etc.
Thank Goodness For “North”, as in Latitude...
In terms of the Pre-existing available terrain, all Tremblant Guests are fortunate that
the Snow is still there(unlike many Ski areas to the “South” where the warm, wet
weather has generated a considerable degree of ”Gone”), and we can look forward
to it coming back on-line on a graduating basis, overnight.
Thanks to one of the most Solid, Well Established, Deep and Wall-To-Wall Alpine
Trail Bases on record for this date, the World Class Pro’s in the Tremblant
Mountain Op’s Team will be able to restore the Trail Network over the course of
a couple of days.
Forecast Best Trail Conditions This Morning:
This is usually done on a priority basis that begins with Nansen and P’tit Bonheur
for the benefit of those Beginners and Intermediates who are most sensitive to
surface quality, and of course, the Major Boulevards such as Beauvallon and
Beauchemin are also on that initial list.
After that, the team selects individual Trails that are required to keep things like
Lessons going within schedule and we are very happy to see that Sissy Schuss is
Groomed and Open as indicated on the Official Open Trail Data Icons.
Sissy Schuss, a 1948 Versant Nord, North Side Trail off the Peak of the Expo Quad,
is one of the most Brilliant, Natural, Rhythmic, and Totally Excellent, learning,
practicing, and underrated Ski Training Environments on Planet Earth. It has a
simply Beautiful, Accurate, Fall-Line Descent that can benefit the Technique Style
and Refinement of any Recreational Skier Alive. Any “Expert” that does not
appreciate Sissy Schuss, is an “Expert” without the understanding of “Nuance”
as it applies to Skiing/Carving Technique. Any Beginner that does not benefit from
it’s Smooth Surfaces should take up Knitting as a Winter activity. We are thrilled to
see it has received Day One Recovery Status Attention.
You Do Not Need To Be A Rocket Scientist To Know...
Conditions are going to have Icy, Firm and Fast, as well as the need for extreme
caution with the “Fast” part as Braking will need extra space to compensate for
any of the “Icy” part.
There will be some very sweet lines, zones, and by the afternoon, possibly even
whole Trails or Sectors that respond well to Sun and Traffic to yield Great surfaces.
Use your Head and be careful. Watch out for others and allow lots of space
wherever you can to increase your own personal margin of safety.
Yesterday’s Awesome Weather, Samples.
It was obvious there was some Heavy Duty Weather Activity
and the overhead scene was changing literally, by the minute.

Awesome Weather Drama Day!!!
Weather Notes For Today:
23(*) Open Trails on the Archival Copy of Official Open Trails, Grooming,
Snowmaking and Lift Status for March 18th, 2016, Courtesy of Tremblant.ca As Far As We Know... before today’s “field Work”,
Virtually all the Pre-Existing base has survived, however as now froze solid,
it needs Groomer processing to render out loose, Skiable, Shred-able Top Layer
Surfaces and all Tremblant Guests need to be patient while that takes place.
The Initial Phases of that process are already complete this morning with
the basic Access and Learning Terrain.
Tomorrow should see a rapid expansion in the Open Terrain in addition to the
refinement of what is Open Today.
More later, in Apres Ski....
