3/24/16 #Tremblant Conditions

Post by T360 »

T360 Apres Ski Edit @ 8:45 P.M.

It’s Snowing Hard At Tremblant.

Welcome To Winter, Version 2.0

If you didn’t think it was “Winter" when you got on Duncan at the North
Base, you sure felt as if it was “Winter” when you got off at the Summit.
Like it or not, you were right in the middle of Mother Natures Winter Face.

Below:

We are always amazed that with such a powerful wind source that can
be heard as a Howling Storm all around you...

...a few metres below the Summit in a contour sheltered spot, complete stillness
with a magically soft snowfall can be found accumulating at a steady pace.

Awesome, Awesome, Tremblant Spectacular Beauty In Weather Contrasts.

The New Snowfall is a very wide ranging flake size, but it is all very light
and dry and accumulates on the ground as a dusty soft blanket where
the wind does not work on it.

Most of the Opened Groomed, was Very Close to Flawless.
Fabulous High Performance carving until legs get turned into Jello!

What will the Morning Hold after all the Forecasts of Freezing Rain???

We’re Hoping the Mountains Cooler, Higher Elevations might even turn it into snow???

Everything else is just a Guess ’til Morning...

If it happens, the first indicator may be the Number of Open Trails at 5:45 A.M. or so.

This Is The Foundation Of “Excellent”, currently relating to
the practically all the Groomed and Some Select Un-groomed,
Open, Alpine Snow Sports Trail Network at Tremblant.

It should be noted that at this Seasonal time Tremblant ALWAYS has
Very Fine to Excellent in it’s mix, however, this Seasons abundant,
extraordinary(basically 2 Metres of Natural Snowfall in 3 weeks),
Late Season Snow has certainly been a huge benefit to current overall
retained coverage and quality.

So Bright, You Need “Shades”...

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
