93(*) Open Trails on all 4 Sides/Slopes of #Tremblant.

The Smile Says It All...
The happy demeanour of the Skier in the moment above very nicely captures
the general sentiments of everyone we spoke to yesterday. The Pic is NOT set up,
we do not know the person, it was just a Snap Shot off the Expo Quad that
happened to reveal way more than just the soft surface sample we were looking for.

Even though it’s a grey, drizzly/rainy/damp day today, the Open Trail inventory this
morning at 93(*) indicates to us that the Performance Levels out there today will
be similar.

Also...If it was unduly Icy, we think you’d see many, many “Progressive”
or Gradual Openings as was the case yesterday with upwards of 30 over
the base count of 66. Having 93 Open Trails to start with this morning is
a hugely positive reflection of initial quality.

Clinically Speaking... The Skiing and Boarding will have Excellent, Fast, Fun Sweet Spots,
it’s just hard to convince people to look past the “rainy”, to properly prepare,
have a “Positive Mental Attitude”, and get out there anyway!

Here’s what Happens when an Expert Skier Meets A Spring Soft Mogul:

Skier... Scores “1” ... Mogul Scores... “0”

Sorry it’s a bit fuzzy... shot off bouncing Expo Quad, but point is clear anyway...
If you Like “Bashing" Moguls... You’ll Love Expo!

No Doubt... It’s almost the end of March and with typical Warm ’n Wet Weather
we’re going to start seeing more exposed ground in the bush. The South Side will
show most and first, the very well shaded North will follow in time.
The thing to keep in mind there is that Bush Snow is not packed. Trail Snow is
packed and that makes it far more erosion resistant. The deep frost below is
also supporting trail surfaces by acting as a barrier, so days like today, isolated
one day rainy days, are to a large extent, shed off the trail surfaces because rain
can not get through the Ice Dam Substrate Barrier in one day... not even in a week
of these days, so the return to sub-Zeros tomorrow and onward may see "Icy bits”
but Mountain Crews can fix those easily in a day. “Icy" is way better than “Gone”.
